The Military Parade: What Think Ye?

I just love how the left is painting this parade as a "flop." They want American pride to fail...No wonder their popularity has fallen to below that of Congress....It's sad to see the left trying to send America to the trash heap. Maybe we should all take a few months away from the news to make sure they KNOW that they're not really relevant any longer.

It did not set a precedent, there have been parades before, yet multitudes are apoplectic.

If I was a progressive, I'd think simultaneously that we don't need that kind of militaristic jingoism on display, and also that the marching seemed uncoordinated and lacklustre.

I've been doing this for well over five years and my quality of life has improved drastically. (Plus, I've been much easier to get along with.)

My wife told me this morning that I needed to stop watching the news, and so did she. We have both become irritable watching anything but the local news for the weather reports. We did stop for several years, but started watching again during the last election cycle. As of this morning, we're both dropping it.

Can't say AMEN loud enough.

Good entry! Thank you for posting. :) I think we ALL need to keep our eyes on the goal. So many (I at present) have lost sight of it. I'm presently fighting my way back. So many distractions, my biological father's illness and subsequent death, my step-mother's dementia, and the theft of nearly $65K from my father's safe while he was hospitalized, along with my health challenges and our leaving our church because of the nepotism and favoritism, nearly took us down all the way. Once one walks away from the church and the Lord, it's hard sometimes to get back to where one was before.

Two things can be true at once…the military parade was not unprecedented in the US.
It gave off Chi-com and North Koran vibes.

And I agree with Ransom that the marching wasn’t nearly as precise an in commies.

Yup. And I find that some of the bloviations on this forum irritate me greatly. I have to consider who is posting and skip them refusing to answer a fool according to his folly.

A question and a comment:
Question: Was this parade planned for previous to this administration, or was it requested by Trump?
Comment: I personally didn't mind the parade, but it probably wasn't the wisest thing to do with the connotations that it implied.
Especially with the recent deployment of the National Guard and Marines in LA.
With that said, no reason is too small to demonstrate against someone when you hate them.

It was apparently planned during the previous administration. June 14 was the traditional date of the founding of the U.S. Army (in 1775) in addition to being Flag Day, and, coincidentally, Donald Trump's birthday. Guess which one of those gets all the attention because there's a parade on.

Meanwhile, there's an equivalent commemoration on June 15 in the United Kingdom, Trooping the Colour, which is an annual military parade in honour of the King's official birthday (the third Saturday in June, which has nothing to do with Charles' actual date of birth which is in November).

Big military parades are a traditional part of European civilizations and have been for centuries. Of course yours gets panned, not because it's anything unusual, but because of the guy in charge.
