I think they realize there is a huge number of their citizens who oppose their leadership and the losses simply magnify the issues. They are trying to preemptively protect themselves from open opposition.
Piers Morgon interviewed the producers of that documentary.Good conversations. My take:
1. Bibi/Israel wants to take control of both the West Bank and Gaza. That is currently in process.
2. The attack on Iran, while an incredible event considering the internal work done in Iran by Massad, is either to draw the US into the conflict, or just another excuse for Bibi to continue stalling the investigation into his corruption. War has a way of doing that. Is Bibi willing to sacrifice Israelis to do that? Of course. October 7, just like our Pearl Harbor, was a contrived event.
If you haven't watched it, it's worth the time. Seeing both Bibi and his wife being interrogated is something else.

Who can stop him? Of course, President Trump can stop him. But we saw in the war with Iran that Nanyahu knows how to play Trump and he can even function and operate when Trump says no, or weak no, or orange light, or all kinds of things like that. So Netanyahu is very clever in understanding Trump.
