Convicting. Or Should Be.

What should Christians do? Stop making excuses for him. Better yet stop making excuses for making excuses for him.
The Epstein fiasco carries with it the irony of him mocking his supporters for expecting him to actually do what he said he would do.

His entire base held him accountable! Quit lying about that. You played a video of a man who is accusing Christians of being a blind cult following Donald Trump and defending him no matter what he did. You take great delight with the man smearing Trump as a pedophile and woman abuser connecting him to Epstein island while he says “if we have learned anything its listen to women when they tell us their story” as if invoking "The Me Too Movement" makes his slander more believable. The fact is if anyone on this forum speaks of the good things President Trump has done for this country and the different direction he has taken us compared to the eight years under Obama and Biden you instantly jump in and accuse them of betraying the gospel. You have nothing good to say about the man and take offense with anyone who actually supports and prays for him. I don’t under your mindset.

1Timothy 6:4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,

You've got a really bad case of TDS, and BS! That's a shame! Nobody is excusing Trump for anything. We've all held him accountable, and he's admitted, whether voluntarily or not, that he's been somewhat abusive with women in the past. Grow up and move on...we have.

If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said to me won’t amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, then angels swearing I was right will make no difference.” Abraham Lincoln

Donald Trump is a flawed man but right now that flawed man is the President of the United States doing the best he can. Christians don’t have to approve of many things he may have done in the past, his failed marriages, the language he sometimes uses, his attitude, and just being human, but we should still pray for him because of the leadership position he is in. I thank God the skeletons in my closet haven’t been exposed to the world because it would probably crush me. Its humbling to think about it.

Forget It

If you see a tall fellow ahead of a crowd,
A leader of men, marching fearless and proud,
And you know of a tale whose mere telling aloud
Would cause his proud head in anguish be bowed,
It’s a pretty good plan to forget it.

If you know of a skeleton hidden away in a closet,

And guarded and kept from the day in the dark,
Whose showing, whose sudden display,
Would cause grief and sorrow and pain and dismay,
It’s a pretty good plan to forget it.

If you know of a tale that will darken the joy
Of a man, or a woman, a girl, or a boy,
That will wipe out a smile, or the least bit annoy
A fellow or cause any gladness to cloy,
It’s a pretty good plan to forget it.

-Mortimer Lewis (1867-1945)

If there was evidence in those files that could incriminate Trump, they would have been released by Biden and used in Democrat Campaign commercials.
Maybe. But on the other hand, if there are Democrats all over the files then why didn't Trump release them in the 2020 election?

DrHuk&Duck "Maybe. But on the other hand, if there are Democrats all over the files then why didn't Trump release them in the 2020 election?"

I don’t claim to know exactly why it was kept under lock and key. Alan Dershowitz was himself falsely accused but managed to prove beyond a doubt that he was innocent and he believes many other innocent people could also be falsely accused. I disagree with this reasoning but even so for whatever reason President Trump may have tried to downplay releasing the files, his most loyal supporters demanded full disclosure! That doesn’t sound like blind followers kissing the ring.

My personal opinion is that there are some very high profile Democrats AND Republicans implicated in the report, hence the extreme hesitation by the presidents from both parties to release the beast.

My two cents: Donald Trump is not someone who I would want my kids to emulate in many ways. I do not believe that he is saved and probably doesn't have a firm grasp of the gospel. That's shameful to those who have had an opportunity to share the same with him.

That said, I agree with MANY of his policies (economic, energy independence, Middle East & Iran, the border, lower taxes, end of DEI and end of celebration for the mentally ill trans) and support this presidency. It is by no means perfect but is so superior to what we would have had from the other candidate, who is an outright simpleton. I remain pleased with my choice at the ballot box.

Or, more likely, it could be due to his stubborn heart and refusal to surrender his life to the Lord. How do we know the Spirit isn't working on him through what has been shared with him? We ought to pray for him and whoever else that irks us that the blinders (whatever they may be) will be removed. I never came to faith in Christ until the Holy Spirit lifted the blinders from my eyes.

Also, we do well to remember that we who are of faith are just as rotten as the politicians we like to slam. (If you spent time with me yesterday and today, you'd agree.)

Maybe the expectation surrounding the list is way overblown. However when you measure the hatred the Dems have for Trump If there was incriminating evidence there it would be used against him. If they could get trump they’d gladly sacrifice a few Dems in the process.

I think we all expect Clinton to be on the list, but my guess is we have some other high profile members (maybe even from other countries) making it impossible to release. I don’t view this as a Republican or Democrat issue because I think the list crosses partisan lines. There are probably some big security concerns with releasing the list. Whether it’s fair or not is going to be beside the point here. High ranking politicians, heads of state, and upper military personnel are not treated like you and me. It might be hypocritical, but it’s reality.

BTW, I’d rather the list not be released at all than for a redacted list pop out with certain people continuing to be protected and others being served on a platter.

Here is some information I hadn't heard before. Start listening at the 6:05 mark.

To me it depends on if there is evidence that they were involved in sex with minors. Epstein was for a long time a de facto member of the ‘elite’ And possibly many people had interaction with him that were not illegal. But it appears to me that there is a reason neither Biden or Trump released the files.

Not sure if it’s so bad for all sides that they cover for each other…but we don’t know.

It's Israel that's implicated.

I think that’s exactly what we’re looking at. It might not even be that it’s necessarily a high ranking senator or president, but maybe a president or senator’s son or grandson that’s implicated. Regardless, we’re never going to get this list published, especially not being redacted. It is what it is.

He is in many ways repugnant. I can still hold my nose and overlook his narcissistic personality disorder when taken in toto with his policies on men in women's locker rooms and sports, border, court appointments, economic policy, etc, etc, etc.
