VBS Week

This is VBS week for us, theme is voyage of Grace based upon the life of John Newton. I haven't heard much chatter on here about VBS this year. Usually Tarheel says something about theirs. Anybody else done VBS this summer?

FSSL posted a few weeks ago about one of his grandkids going to VBS. There was some discussion about how accurately VBS curriculum portrays the Gospel.

The church I was privileged to Pastor for 43 years continues the tradition of going ‘all out’ for VBS. Years ago, we maxed out our space for VBS so we usually have just over 800 kids attend…with about 350 volunteers.

We always write our own program with an emphasis on the Gospel.
It takes time, effort and money but it always pays dividends with many couples with children coming to our services (because of the emphasis we place on kid and youth ministry).

VBS is gratifying, and very draining in a small church. Last night, as things had gone far too smoothly, we were given a scare because a girl had to be taken home prematurely with o
a food allergy reaction.
