Are you the @JesusFan from the Baptist Board?

JonC certainly has sterilized the place, hasn't he? I hope to see others come over with you!

Yes wee are, and Jon C is doing his best to drive away like minded Baptists over there, as he is back upon his crusade to getting rid of "pagan concepts" such as penal Substitutionary atonement view

Pst, and Jon C is interesting, as he almost suspended me for accusing him of holding to NT Wrong view on the Atonement, even though he calls Jesus havign wrath of god placed on Him was pagan, that Calvin and Reformers and majority of Baptists have been wrong, same junk NT wright likes to peddle

Jon C is why I left for 6 months the first time and now 4 months the second time. He tries to paint PSA as heresy. Probably every baptist church you or anyone one this site or that site has ever been in believes in Penal Substitutionary Atonement. I blocked him but so many people were getting bashed by his heresy I just left.

What gets me is that he pretty much parrots NT Wright view on the Atonement, and yet threatened toi kick me off that board for saying that his theologypretty much same as Wrights

Really? You can get suspended for holding a different theological position??

I’d purposely go down in flames with a post that would get me suspended and have them talking about for years. 😆

Yes, as he has Apostolic insighted afforded him by th Holy Spirit regardin his theological views
Good grief. When did the crazymatics hijack the BB from the likes of sensible men like Dr. Bob and Tom Cassidy and their ilk?

Here is Isaiah 53 paraphrased according to the anti-PST interpretations being promoted there. Jesus's sufferings weren't for sin, they were because of sin.

[4] Surely he endured the same injustices and discomforts common to man, yet we thought he was the one being punished by God in doing so.

[5] But the suffering in this world is due to our transgressions, and we're healed by his martyrdom.

[6-8] All we, like sheep, have gone astray. We all do our own thing, and Yahweh made him the target of our hostility and oppression. Because we are transgressors, we struck an innocent man.

I think JesusFan is being sarcastic. To my knowledge Jon hasn't claimed any kind of hotline to Jesus, but maybe this is a new thing.

What happens in suspensions is the rules are broadly interpreted to ding you on perceived sleights. It got so bad that it was deemed un-Christian to question the 2020 election, Biden's legitimacy, or the validity of the Jan 6 vote. It's lightened up a little bit, but it's still fairly heavy-handed.

There are still there and around, but JonC seems to be be the active administrator for the Forum, and he seems to be going down the pathway of having insights others fail to see, as he many times states that both calvinists and arminions are both equally wrong on how they view the bible, and that Pst was a pagan concept, and things such as spiritually dead and Original Sin not biblical

Per JonC, jesus was not out to death for ours sins and faced wrath of God the Father, but that the evil world system killed him off, and He arose as victor over powers of death and sin

Was being tongue in cheek, but did get hit with penalty points when daring to identify him as hold to NR Wright doctrine of the Atonement as being a liar, and yet in pretty much every point he parrots wright on that doctrine , i also got into trouble when telling him that he should only state that we are wrong based upon HIS understanding, but cannot be stating that the Bible never teaches Pst, wrath of God in atonement, etc for when one claims to know what it teaches and does not teach in an absolute fashion, would be in a sense claiming to have Apostoic type wisdom ftrom above.

In other words, the Christus Victor theory of the atonement.

You've dropped N. T. Wright's name a few times, and it's notable that even he doesn't deny penal substitution even while affirming Christus Victor.

What would happen, hypothetically, if you raised this issue privately with one or more of the other admins and pointed out that the BB was basically being dominated by a Pelagian? I realize the BB is kind of a big tent (as is American Baptistism, a concept that is kind of alien to me up here in Canada), but surely the BaptistBoard doesn't want the mouthpiece of Baptist faith and practice to be a heretic who penalizes people merely for the audacity of disagreeing with him.

Carrying on a conversation right now concerning pst and wrath of God, and JonC keeps on insisting that the wrath of God is directed just towards the lost sinner, and that when sinners turn to God, he accepts and reconciles them back period, and he also denying spiritual death and Original Sin

I have tried. The issue is that they sre short moderators and they don't want to lose him. For about 6 months, none of the administrators logged in and they could not fix issues.

He seems to be taking a very Apostolic standard as to his theology, for if you disagree with him on any major issue, he will jsut state that you are wrong, misunderstanding the bible, relying others other sources and traditions, and that he has the valid bible viewpoint
