Pretty sure inI watched MTV on TV probably 15 years ago once or twice and saw nothing redeemable.
That's supposedly on the horizon. It appears MTV is closing in Europe and a couple countries in South America, but not in the US.
Somewhere in the 2000s they were down to <3 hours of videos per day, not long after they went to all Reality TV dung.I watched MTV on TV probably 15 years ago once or twice and saw nothing redeemable.
It may have been longer ago than that, maybe the 90's. I can't remember. I'm a dinosaur, since I still have a Sony cassette walkman.Somewhere in the 2000s they were down to <3 hours of videos per day, not long after they went to all Reality TV dung.
I was a kid in the 80s and remember we were too poor to have the add-on channels like MTV, but my best friend had it. I'd go to his house that first MTV summer every day and flip it on as soon as I got there. We were always sports junkies, constantly playing outside, but that first summer of MTV turned me into a couch potato and zombie, lol.
i still have one of those too...It may have been longer ago than that, maybe the 90's. I can't remember. I'm a dinosaur, since I still have a Sony cassette walkman.

...so even those not quite yet dinosaurs can have one.... ..![]()
by the time i discovered MTV their other new channel VH1 was the main channel for continuous music..... MTV had already been relegated to reality shows and adult cartoons... (beavis and butthead - aeon flux - doctor katz and etc).... .VH1 was something we left running on the tv to listen to but never just sat there and watched it -Same!
Man, I'm feeling nostalgic, and old.![]()
You're just a young dinosaur then. How have you been old friend? You were gone for months. I was gone for a couple.i still have one of those too..... ... it;s a yellow waterproof sportsman addition..... plays cassettes and gets am/fm radio..... still works great... .. but the ear-buds have been replaced a few times... i don;t listen to it as much as i did when it was all still new.... . i got that for that my birthday when i was in junior high... ...so even those not quite yet dinosaurs can have one.... ..

Yes, when MTV started going off the rails in the '90s I quickly transitioned to VH1. They had lots of behind the scenes stuff that talked about history of bands, and other special concerts and things. It became much better, in my not so humble opinion.by the time i discovered MTV their other new channel VH1 was the main channel for continuous music..... MTV had already been relegated to reality shows and adult cartoons... (beavis and butthead - aeon flux - doctor katz and etc).... .VH1 was something we left running on the tv to listen to but never just sat there and watched it -
but what killed both MTV and VH1 ...(in my opinion)... was when rap took over popular culture and destroyed creativity that once produced real music......
