speaking of raiders....... having been born into a family of avid raider fans....
i grew up hearing about this famous play and how the steelers became the
stealers by ripping off the raiders with this "miracle" play..... .. .......

was the f-14 retired too soon?... .. could the tomcat... with it;s 1980s technology
and obsolete phoenix missles... still defend the fleet today against an all out

they only think that was a bright side.... ..we will see what they think saturday when we gather up discarded pumpkins - and take them to the range for archery practice....🎃🏹.. ...pumpkins make awesome targets for distance shooting.....😎.... they might end up wishing they were a frappuchino..:sneaky:

I just learned that there is "light" soy sauce and "dark" soy sauce.

BTW, @aleshanee, our lead trainer is from Maui. His wife made a bunch of musubi and brought it to the bus yard for everyone to try. Can you picture a bunch of hicks from Idaho looking at that and wondering what it is!? 😂🤣 I tried it... it was okay. Of course, I was HUNGRY. I liked how the saltiness of the Spam contrasted against the rice and nori.

there are many sauces of different names that begin with soy sauce as a base and then add in other ingredients..... ..for instance in chinese cooking we frequently make whats called ponzu sauce - soy sauce slightly watered down and mixed with a little lime or lemon juice.... it;s really good with won-ton and certain kinds of chinese dumplings.... . .... some people add a small amount vinegar to it for a dipping sauce....

i have seen it at walmart..... but we buy all our components for chinese cooking in china town itself.... . ..... but i still don;t go there by myself... .... not only because i don;t speak the language well enough but also coz i can;t read any of the labels on the bottles.... . i always either go with my dads wife ..from taiwan... or one of our 2 room mates from china.... . they all speak chinese fluently and can read the symbols...... i am still trying to learn chinese but i;m having a harder time with it than any other language... . i think maybe i reached my limit on number of languages able to learn......

this will sound strange coming from someone who has grown up in hawaii - but i hate spam musubi... . in fact i hate all musubi.... ..it mostly has to do with the seaweed it;s wrapped up in... just never could get a taste for it.... .. but i;m also not a fan of white rice... .....spam... on the other hand ...has always been one of our hunting - camping - survival foods..... i like it ok but have to be really hungry with no other choices to eat it.... .in the field on hunting trips we usually just eat it straight from the can with a spoon..... like an old fashioned c-ration.....
 
we were riding through downtown once stuck in slow traffic... when shiney happy people from rem was on the radio... . there was a group of homeless guys on the curb and 2 of them were eating spam from cans..... .........immediately we starting singing ... "hungry homeless people eating spam" to the same tune with the song...... .

i can;t remember which one of us started it first... .it wasn;t me... . but now i can;t hear that song without hearing "hungry homeless people etc etc" in my head.... .. .. ..... .. ..by the way... our windows were down that day and people heard us... they gave us some appalling looks.... ...... .but i think weird al would have been proud.....:cool:
