Or it could be the other way around. Those who are depressed and mentally unstable are more likely to think dying their hair unnatural colors is a good idea.

i had an archery student a couple of years ago who dyed her in streaks almost like a rainbow..... red -purple -orange - and 2 different shades of blue... ... she loved it... her whole personality seemed to changed after she did it.... .... and i hate to say this because i have fought mental illness issues all my life - but she was definitely wacky..... she talked about doing it for days before she did it.... ...apparently it was very expensive and it only lasted a few weeks before some of the colors started to fade... ...after a while it looked like a mix of pale blue pink and yellow and then she got depressed about it .... and re-dyed her hair to try and match her natural hair color......... ...........she was a kook in many ways... . always breaking up with boyfriends and bringing enlarged pictures of their faces to use for an archery target...... kinda spooky coz she became a very good archer....

That’s actually kind of funny in a weird way
she had a really intense job in communications and IT... i think archery was stress relief more than anything else... ...she had no interest in hunting or competition..... eventually she met someone in the military she really liked... and when he got moved to the mainland she moved with him..... ...hopefully she is still happy and things are going well.. ...if not - then i hope she is near a good archery range......
