Eighteen years ago around the latter part of February, I Googled an old "Bus" song, "Ain't Got No Brown Socks." I then found a previous edition of the FFF. Raider welcomed me with open arms. It's been quite a ride. A lot has changed, but a lot is still the same. Hard to believe Baptist City Holdout is eighteen years old!

I found the FFF when I posted a snarky comment on Sharper Iron. Someone told me to shape up or take it to the FFF.

22 years ago i was hanging out at my dads firestation after school... (which i frequently did back in those days)..... and was shocked to see him doing something he had never done before...... actually using a computer.... .. and he was totally engrossed in it..... ..this was werid coz he never bothered with computers before.... .he said he was too old school for them...:sneaky: ........ . so i started looking over his shoulder to see what had finally attracted him to computers and discover what had him so preoccupied..... .. ....... it was the old don elbourne version of the fff..... .the fighting-fundamentalist-forums. ..

this was not like him at all - so i started reading the forum myself just to see what he was up to.... ..i lurked for quite a while - then after a while joined... .. and one day broke in on a thread to ask alayman what in the world he was talking about... .... . today 22 years later my dad is retired from the fire department and is back to no longer bothering with computers .... and i;m still here - still trying to figure out what alayman is talking about..... ;)

my original name on the forum was chupacabra..... an old nickname i had been given after going ballistic on an older brother who was harassing me - and in my dads words left him looking like he had tangled with a chupacabra...... . but i only used that name for a few weeks.... eventually i changed my forum name to my real middle name - aleshanee.... and have used it ever since on all versions and spin off versions of the fff.... .....

I wish your dad still was here on the forum. We’d be better off for sure.

Only 18 years, huh? ;)

I showed up in the summer of 1998, when I was researching KJV-onlyism and wanted to know who this Jack Hyles person was. The forum was still called the Jack Hyles Forum at the time and resided at jackhyles dot net.

28 years; has it been that long? *sob* That means sometime last year, according to a bit of back-of-the-napkin math, I crossed the line where I have spent more of my lifetime on the FFF than not sometime last November.

Are there still vestiges of the old FFF to be found?
Oh, the memories!
Oddly enough, I think there is. There’s another forum/website with almost the same identical name, but with a slight alteration. It’s called “Fighting Fundamental Forums.

I’ve always been a little confused about the direct lineage of that forum versus this one in relation to the original FFF. Either way, I would definitely recommend sticking with this forum and wouldn’t waste my time on that other one. It’s a little bizarre….

I believe that was a split from this forum by a disgruntled (former) member.

Am I the only one who noticed the spelling in the title?
