10 to 15 foot sets on the south shores the past 2 days... .right off shore of waikiki.. .
. ...it;s all winding down now.. .. and - it would have been outside my skill set even
if i wasn;t still recovering from surgery. .... but the shallows were fine even though
very crowded.. .... we went there a few times just to watch mostly.... .. ..

i noticed cape disappointment is just south of that waikiki beach as well as the cape disappointment state park to the north of it........ ..are those the places people go to when the realize it;s not the same waikiki beach in hawaii they might have been thinking of?..........
.. ..............i looked up the pictures posted on google earth - and it;s still a very beautiful place in a rugged wilderness kind of way.....
Yup. And we're right next door to Cape Disappointment! I bit the bullet and purchased a Discover Pass so we can come and go as we please. Today, we hiked to Bell's View Point and North Head Lighthouse. Tomorrow morning, who knows? there is a somewhat secluded beach out on the far west end of oahu called "pray for sex" beach... ... .it;s only a nickname.... the real name of the beach is makua..... but so many people have called it "pray for sex" fo so long - that few people even know what the real name of the beach is........
i told some friends visiting from the mainland about it once and they thought i was making it up.. ... they even accused me of making a very crude and innapropriate joke..... so i had to dig up an old map of surf spots to show them.... and there it was spelled out........ .. i don;t know where that map is now but i did find a website online that tells about it;s history.... ....

I'm sure you've heard of... sex on the beach... She loved the flavor and called her sister, bragging about have sex on the beach. Actually almost made me regret turning her on to it. Even now, after years on the wagon, she still jokes about it.BTW, we never got down to Waikiki Beach on this last trip to Cape Disappointment because access to the beach was closed off by road construction. We were told of a hiking trail that led to the beach but we were never able to find it.

Back when we imbibed occasionally, I turned Mrs abcaines on to a cocktail
There's a dessert called "Sex in a Pan." Basically it's layers of cookie-crumb crust, cheesecake, pudding, and whipped cream. It's every bit as delicious as that sounds, especially if you've got a sweet tooth.
My aunt made it for my grandparents' 60th anniversary dinner. Keeping in mind that they were churchgoing Baptists from the Edwardian era, I never did find out what they thought of the name...
