even before i joined the fff i had heard about sweet tea... southern style....
... i even tried it once but didn;t really like it... .. since then i have seen it
mentioned on the forum many times.... ...

then today one of my favorite recipe channels posted this video below ....
... it has me intrigued.... sort of...... . i thought you might find it interesting... ...

ALAWWIFE loves her tea, and can’t get the morning started without it, but I fear that she loves her Keurig and the instant gratification that comes with the simple process more than the refined aesthetical beauty in that method, lol.

The amount of ice she is using has me questioning the video. Turn of the 19th century, there was no refrigeration; the only way to get ice was to cut it from frozen lakes which made it a rare luxury for the ultra rich. Just saying...

Mrs. abcaines and her tea as well. Me and my coffee... In fact, we're taking off for our CMA state rally today and the lodging we booked is bare minimum... No coffee maker listed in the amenities; I just packed my mini Keurig from our camper. I'm bringing my stash of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend k-cups. I'll be an absolute bear otherwise.

I also looked and there isn't any A/C We're paying motel rates but no A/C. I know we're going to be in the mountains but temps are forecast to be in the 90s... I guess I wouldn't be so bewildered but last week, our A/C system finally gave up the ghost and it has been sweltering in the Caines Manor. The new ($14.5K) HVAC system we've ordered is scheduled for installation after the first of the month.

Ouch. Mine is in need of replacement. 25 years old and has been recharged 3 times in last 5 years. It fails to keep up the last 3 or 4 weeks.

I know, I just had to go through the same process a couple months ago after 15 years of service. Cost me 12k, so I guess I’m lucky. They say “It’s hard to stop a Trane”, they lied.

Our system was at least 50 years old. It's been held together with bubblegum and bailing wire for the past 20 years. I knew we were getting to the end; we were hoping to get through the season...

Could I have gotten of cheaper? Absolutely. But we decided to go for the more efficient option; 96% efficiency furnace and all the installation stuff that goes with it. It's a Bryant system and the hope is that it will outlive both of us.

I'm hoping to need a recharge. Ours is old enough to need Freon. We have the home warranty that came with the house when we bought it. The HVAC guy who put in our new boiler (not broken so not a warranty issue) said that the reclamation and disposal, added to the cost of the Freon itself would cost less than a unit installed.
