The most ardent, anti-Trump, "Elbows up!" Canadian journalists who rally against renaming Lake Ontario, are also the ones most likely to refer to Canada as "Turtle Island" to pander to natives.

Trump is a childish goof, but he also tends to bring out the childish goof in leftists, too
 
The name Ontario is from an Iroquois word meaning beautiful lake so changing the name wouldn't make it less Canadian. It's just removing a name that has been used well before Europeans arrived.
