So who would make a Great President?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think this country probably needs a pragmatic, center-left democrat to help turn things around in the right direction. A MAGA-endorsed Republican is likely to keep many of the things in place that are currently hurting our economy, such as tariffs and war in the Middle East. Someone like Josh Shapiro comes to mind.

How much of your brain is occupied by making up fantasies and then getting mad about them?
January 28, 2026 — Would not rule out regime change. During a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, Rubio said, “I think we would like to see the regime there change.” He did not rule out a regime-change effort, but he did not announce a plan to invade Cuba either.

May 21, 2026 — Military force remained an option. Asked whether the U.S. would use force to change Cuba's political system, Rubio said a peaceful agreement was preferred, but added that the president could do “whatever it takes to support and protect the national interest.”

July 2021 — Called for international action During protests in Cuba, Rubio urged the Biden administration to rally international support and be prepared to “take action” if violence against protesters escalated.

You know he'll deport Vivek, Kamala, and Barack back to their countries of origin!
Awe how sweet of you to keep me in your thoughts. I love you too ❤️ I'm gonna find you a girlfriend.

Are you saying that the average American is not tired of forever wars?

My guess is that the people on here are one issue voters and would never vote for a democrat.

I’m not saying that having a Democrat in office would be my preference, but if it’s going to be one, it should at least be someone who is middle of the road and hopefully fiscally conservative. Then after 4 years, a more traditional pre-MAGA Republican can come forward.

What chance would a center left Democrat have to get the Democrat nomination? Especially if they win the mid terms as the polls indicate, the socialists and communists will hold the power.

I actually had to feed a small family during the Carter years and it was a disaster economically and foreign policy wise.

Not sure where you get your fascination with his presidency.
He seemed to be a great human being though.
I know a closet Carter fan when I see one. C’mon out of the closet. The air is just fine. 😎

The DNC has been known to give the nomination to the “safe bet” candidate, like they did when they passed over Bernie Sanders for Hilary and Biden.

On the other hand, it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that the Republican nomination will go to whoever President Trump ultimately chooses to endorse.

It’s wishful thinking, I know. Especially since we’re starting to see an increase of DSAs getting elected. But if one chooses to run, at least there would be a chance.
