for one he is wrong in that he attempts to apply the reality of political power as it existed at the time of the early church to the way it exists today - especially as it exists in this country..... ...
he has a first century view born of a time when christians faced persecution they had no way to escape - and no choice but to endure it... ..as they were subjects and victims of abusive governments...... and he tries to apply - even enforce hs view - upon christians today who ... in this country... have the power within their votes and voices to limit and even direct the form of government they live under or are subject to.....
in short - he seems to be the kind of person who is ashamed of having a liberty and freedom not available to early christians - and who resents other fellow christians who are not ashamed of it....... ..he seems to believe christians would be better off if we returned to an age of persecution - and of being burned at the stake for our faith.... falsely believing it would appear - that the fruits of the spirit cannot exist within a christian unless said christian is rendered powerless.. oppressed.. or subject to torture....
in my opinion both of you lack the ability to comprehend the very concept of freedom and what it can give to the christian who wants to serve Christ in the modern world rather than relive and re-suffer the past..... you seem to think that since you lack that ability then everybody else must lack it too... .....what you find impossible is impossible for everybody - across the board.. and without exception.... .. it;s a view born of pride and conceit - not humility... .
