John R Rice "Prayer is asking"; "If it is not asking, it is not prayer in the Bible sense."

You said Rice was "separatistic to a fault." Yet he rejected second degree separation. Can you give examples how Rice was separatistic and how was his Christianity legalistic and self righteous?

John R Rice "Prayer is asking"; "If it is not asking, it is not prayer in the Bible sense."

John R Rice was a godly man but he wasn't always correct on some topics. Take the topic of prayer, his best selling book was "Prayer Asking And Receiving" published in 1942. According to Rice, prayer was simply asking God for your needs. Rice rejected the teaching that prayer also has some other...

    John R Rice

John R Rice was a good man and one of the most balanced in the IFB movement. Today, many IFB's would consider him a "heretic" for some the the beliefs that he held. He rejected storehouse tithing, kjv onlyism, secondary separation. Even though he held to a pre trib rapture, he was not a...

Can a man be born again without hearing the King James Version?

Well, has Firsts Baptist Church of Hammond now abandoned this false teaching? Has pastor John Wilkerson ever preached on KJV onlyism?

    Cindy Collins observation

Where does Cindy Schaap (Collins) now attend church? Does she now attend a Southern Baptist Church? It would be interesting to know what are her thoughts now on IFB churches.

Can a man be born again without hearing the King James Version?

I wonder how anyone was saved prior to 1611? Since they teach that the KJV is the only legitimate Word of God. Of course we know that not all KJV onlyists believe this element of Ruckmanism. I believe there are two camps of KJV onlyism. These were started by Peter Ruckman and David Otis Fuller...

Can a man be born again without hearing the King James Version?

If the King James Version is necessary for salvation then one would have to add the KJV to the gospel of Christ. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

    Cindy Collins observation

Does Cindy still attend an IFB church? Or does she now attends a Southern Baptist Church?

Do people die during the Tribulation or 1,000 years?

I'm premillennial but post trib on the rapture. I don't believe saints will die during the 1,000 years.

The origin of the current version of the KJVO myth...

Based on your statements above, would you say that it was Peter Ruckman who brought KJV Onlyism to IFB churches? His book was published 1964 while Otis Fuller book was published in 1970.

Do you identify as a Fundamental Baptist

Ralph "Yankee" Arnold has praised men like Jack Hyles many times, so I'm surprised he does not identify himself as "IFB".
