    Are Altar Calls Biblical?

Wouldn't the "believing" itself be a work? You have to consider facts and weigh their gravity-seems like works based salvation.

    Are Altar Calls Biblical?

Scripture also does not mention air conditioning or KJV pew Bibles but most IFB churches have both.

    Our Daily Laugh!

I know mine does the same. At some point I would expect her just to know that I'm incompetent and not ask me to go to the store. I've spent 25 years trying to convince her of it and yet she still sends me.

I’m thinking of having these reprinted.

No, it would ruin the whole flow. Your going to have to just take the first 22 and call it "22 REASONS Why The Rapture Will Be in 2022". After typing that I'm wondering why "REASONS" is capitalized but not the rest of it?

Tell us about your theological journey

I think the term is used to differentiate from the Wesleyan-Arminian position that most think of when someone uses the term "Arminian".

You might be an IFB If…

Ya, I meant restaurant...it wasn't that kind of church.

You might be an IFB If…

When I was at an IFB in NC the pastor actually advertised from the pulpit a restaurant in the area that would give 10% discount if you showed them your church bulletin. The church served alcohol, though. I was surprised to see that.

Tell us about your theological journey

After getting saved the first church I was part of was The Evangelical Church denomination. A conservative Wesleyan/Arminian denom. I believed most of what they taught with the exception of entire sanctification/2nd work of grace. After 8 years there we moved to NC and after looking at other...

Pastor Of Shenadoah Bible Baptist Resigns

So when he first came to Shenadoah he was sort of a unique kind of Hyles guy that was likely needed to keep the church from going bankrupt. When Owens left about half the church left, however there were still plenty of Hyles people that remained. So they needed a pastor that the Hyles people...

Pastor Of Shenadoah Bible Baptist Resigns

Pastor Bane of Shenadoah Bible Baptist Church publicly resigned yesterday. Seems to be another case of pastor burnout. While I'm no longer a fundamentalist (at least in the Hyles sense of the word), I always said if I had to be a part of a fundy church again I would go back to Shenadoah...

You might be an IFB If…

This surprised me when I started visiting churches of a particular denomination. I found they were far more independent than the IFBs. Styles differed from church to church. Times, # of services, dress code, music style was all different depending on which particular church you were at.

    The Mega-Thread for COVID Evangelists

Just a reminder sports stars weren't immortal prior to the jab. Below is a listing of a few who died in 2020. "Max Tuerk was a leader on the USC Trojans' offensive line from 2012-2015. He died June 20 after collapsing during a hike with his parents. He was 26, and played parts of two seasons...

When I live in NC there was a fundamentalist methodist church. I don't think it was a denomination just a single church. There is another Wesleyan-Arminian type church not far from where I live now that would likely qualify as fundy's. Also you have many Church of Christs that would fall into...
