HAC, Trad Wives, in this Month's Vanity Fair

This article is abridged. For the full article, go to: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/story/the-college-for-trad-wives TRADWIFE U The Actual, Literal College for Tradwives, Where Right-Wing Women Seek Their Mrs. Degrees At Hyles-Anderson College, an unaccredited school outside of Chicago...

    Servants Conference 2026

I know I've been gone for decades, but if the college adopts that approach to evangelism, it's a radical shift from the Hyles days and sure to change most everything there if it does in fact, survive. Does anyone know if the students still submit mandatory weekly activity reports? (I always...

    Servants Conference 2026

I have heard that not everyone who left took it well. I mean, that's understandable when you're asked to vacate a job you have held for years. Everyone thinks THEIR job is most indispensable, when relatively few are. I say again that in order to survive, a lot of tough decisions had to be made...

    Deaths Of HAC Students

Is there a particular reason that you posted this? I knew him from my time at HAC. I mean, his death was 40 years ago and he's listed in the very first post on this thread. Just wondering?

    Servants Conference 2026

That's interesting. The legacy that he spoke about so much decades ago, didn't last very long. I wonder if that would have been different if Bro Schaap could have kept his fly closed? I guess I doubt that. It just seems to me that the church and school are trying to maintain some manner of...

    Servants Conference 2026

Much like my comments about FBCH/HAC, it seems the Sword of the Lord is only a vague semblance of what John Rice left behind in 1980. I understand the Rice family has expressed concerns to the current leadership, but frankly times change. For one, "print on paper" publications have in great...

Wonder what they would think about John Wesley?

    Servants Conference 2026

Could someone shed a little light on this blog post of Paul Chappel, dated August 5, 2012, speaking of the Schaap incident of 2012: "The pastor involved in the current situation is Jack Schaap from Hammond, Indiana. Some years ago, a number of us realized we could not fellowship with him due to...

    Servants Conference 2026

From a VERY outside, looking in perspective, it looks to me like a conference of a large church -- not a mega church. It seems like there are remnants of the old days, like a having a conference, i.e., "Pastor's School", each March, but it doesn't appear to really be the same as three decades...

    Mr Godfrey

I saw that as well. Anyone can criticize his methods or its effectiveness, but the man was wholly sold out to his mission. I remember not really caring for his class in personal evangelism, but he believed in it 100%.

    Mr Godfrey

I always thought that he was sincere in his beliefs and faithful to the mission of sharing the gospel.

Things once considered Sin and may still be.

Sooner or later, everybody gets old. But not everybody gets old in a Mercedes ;)

Things once considered Sin and may still be.

I believe the wearing of jewelry was the issue in which the Church of God and the Church of God of Prophesy parted ways over.

Jack Hyles died 25 years ago, today.

I believe that is a "sin" problem. Man is totally depraved. All of us. Even those professing to be "professional" Christians. It's sad, but true. Romans 7:24-25 "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the...

Things once considered Sin and may still be.

In addition to those items previously mentioned, I heard some in the seventies preaching against males using hair spray. Crazy times.

Jack Hyles died 25 years ago, today.

I guess he did encounter some controversy late in his ministry over the divorce. It was my understanding that his wife did initiate it and he never remarried, which prevented that line of contention some assert. His almost as famous son, Andy, has been (I think, purposely) vague about his...

Call me once brainwashed, but at the time, I didn't give it much thought. I just admired those men and I wanted their signature. I don't know, maybe it was much more strange than I thought at the time.

Forgetting that it's a Bible, is the signature authentic and not a print? Traditionally, presidential signatures have some value. The signature would have more value than the putative blessing 🤭
