    Who's Who in HACkerville.

Female.  Never attended HAC, but grew up at FBC from the early 60's & graduated HB in 1978.

    Uh oh...

^ Yes, I think you're right - it kind of alternates between the two. Also...I stole it for my FB page.

That's how I took it, as well.

So close your eyes and tell me.......

The Choir Ready Room and the hallways on each side, where choir members lined up before entering the auditorium.  And also the red light/green light in the PA Room so the men could respond to questions like "Is the treble turned up?"

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

Luckily, y'all don't know where I live (and  surely the family-sized Bible, Hyles coffee mug & "Praise the Lord" voicemail message won't give me away!)  :D

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

I was attended FBC/HB, but chose to leave the area rather than attend HAC.  I've stated that in the past & was under the impression it was ok to post  here - I'm sure someone will let me know if that's not the case.

    2016 Republican Candidates

I don't have an opinion on who would be best "from a Christian perspective".  I believe the best person for the job (and one with the best chance of beating Clinton) is Marco Rubio.  I've been hoping for a Rubio/Fiorina ticket since back before any candidates had even announced.

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

I meant my last post in a light-hearted way; I apologize if I sounded rude or arrogant - that was not my intention. There are no biblical arguments I can make that aren't easily accessible to anyone honestly researching the subject.  I didn't join this conversation so I could persuade someone...

If you're talking about me... I'm a mom.  :)  Draw other conclusions, too, if you wish; they're likely to be incorrect as well.

When did you notice the "downfall" beginning?

I believe this was the time frame when the changes began, as well.  It was more of a slow fade, IMO, than a downfall - it was years / decades in the making.

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

I'd explain (again) but I'm beginning to doubt that you have any intention of trying to understand.  Good Christians come down on both sides of the drinking issue, and on other issues, as well.  I'm happy to leave it at that.  Cheers!

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

Not at all.  But I understand why you have to believe that.  Best wishes to you! Why?  If it's a "100%" issue, that means everyone already agrees that it's either ok or it's sin (I'm just not sure which, based on this thread).  Ok, I do appreciate those of you who took the time to answer...

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

Drinking was just compared to homosexuality, and it is just as clearly - and more often, I believe - condemned in Scripture, isn't it?  So absolutely no Christian can be accepting of drinking any alcohol - yet many are.  And while I hate that it upsets & angers people, the same is true on the...

Exactly. So another 100% issue, just like homosexuality?  Got it.

Reactions to Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

Can't that be said for other things as well (drinking & divorce come to mind) that Christians are willing to "agree to disagree" over?  What other beliefs do you personally hold that you believe no Christian can ever interpret differently?  Christians don't even all agree on salvation, do...
