I miss the teenage (at the time) singing groups - The Debonaires, Strength & Beauty, The Lewis Sisters, even the choir that used to sit on the platform on Wednesday nights.  I always liked hearing them sing in church or at high school chapel.

Well, yes, I agree, but I thought that was the whole point of the article: the thought/tendency is a disorder that should be treated in order to (hopefully) prevent him from committing the crime of child abuse.  Maybe I misunderstood.

Does threatening incarcerating for anyone who admits to having the tendencies work in practice?  From what I've read, I believe you're correct that therapy isn't a "cure" but it can be a preventative - and possibly a more effective one than the promise of being locked up for thought crimes. ...

Of course the abuse of a child is and will remain a crime.  But seems to me that if the attraction was treated as a mental disorder BEFORE the pedophile acted on his impulses, it'd be a good thing.  Declaring the thought/desire itself to be a crime doesn't make it go away, it just guarantees...

I think this is closer to how most politically-interested people are, even though they are assumed to be blind followers who never question anything. Isn't the Drudge Report simply a collection of links? It was always too cluttered and busy for me but I don't remember it having any commentary...

Do you really know people for whom this is true?  I hear the accusation thrown around a lot but have never known or met anyone with that kind of loyalty to Fox News. 

One year I was part of a group of HB kids sent to sell candy (Reese's, of course) to the people standing in line outside the auditorium. 

Wait - there used to be a POOL in the Miller building?! That would explain the aqua-colored tiles in the (creepy, old) ladies room. As the daughter of one of the PA room men, I have to wonder who was doing all this clandestine recording, listening and transcribing what had to have been a...

AND...the old movie theater in downtown Hammond!  I only went there once - to see Goin' Coconuts starring Donny & Marie.  8)

There was a little store across Sibley from the old Youth Center, which was the perfect place to visit on the walk back to the auditorium after Sunday School.  Soda, candy, Sen Sen - all the necessities.

The Dairy Queen in Dyer - our family and the Hasse kids rode to school together, and we'd all throw our change into the ashtray until we collected enough to afford a Dilly Bar for each of us, then we'd stop on the way home.  Of course, we had to pay with a handful of pennies, nickels and dimes. ...

This was sure fun to read through!  My friends & I would walk to the Pizza Hut in Schereville after school sometimes (and may or may not have played Wheel in the Sky on the jukebox).

Many times, my family and the Barrs would get together to make things for the 2 & 3 year old Sunday School classes - things like homemade cookbooks, construction-paper Easter baskets for the toddlers, or decorations for the departments.  I don't remember a time when they weren't a part of my...

Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton & Condi Rice all made the same choice, long before Mrs. Obama.  Good for her, but I'm not sure why the media suddenly sees this as bold & brave. 

Dan, I agree with so much of what you've said on this subject, but I have one question: Do you believe God intended there to be no options for gay Christians other than life-long celibacy?
