i like keola beamers music.... but i don;t like hearing him play because he has very poor fret discipline and drags his fingers across the strings....... it makes a nauseating screeching sound in his music...
.... his music really is good.... but in my opinion it actually sounds better when someone else plays it..... :-\

And here I always thought it was on purpose. Like his mo or mantra or something.
no.... finger screeches on the string is actually a sign of a very lazy guitarist.... and one who doesn;t practice enough...... it;s something concert guitarists try at all costs to avoid because it can mean the difference in having a full time job with a symphony or being forced to play in bars or on the street for spare change....... .... and the ability to avoid finger screeches or keep them to a minimum is considered one of the things that separates a passable guitarist from a true virtuoso ... ....
but even then it really is hard to avoid and still happens to even the best guitarists sometimes.... rare is a performance from a guitarist without at least one small finger screech in the strings...... the problem with keola beamer is that his playing is overwhelmed with a barrage of them.... they are constant.....
check this video out...... this is one of the best practice sessions of john dowlands allemande i have ever heard.....this guy is an amazing guitarist.... yet at the 12 second mark you an still hear a finger screech..... and a few smaller less noticeable ones later on...... but that;s why professionals practice constantly so they can work those glitches out of their performance by concert day.......
