Not a huge deal, but I will be interviewing for a new job Wednesday.  I just want the Lord's will to be done.  It's been 27 years in the same job and I enjoy that old job, but circumstances have arisen that provided for this opportunity.  Thanks for your prayers.

You bet brother...praying for the Lord's will.

Praying God will lead you in the right choice for this job.

Absolutely. Will this require a change of place where you live?

No, the job is within the same organization.  I've been a laboratory worker/Chemist for 27 years.  I like what I do and have a great group of co-workers who have "grown up together" (we all have more than 20 years working together in the lab), so the fear of change is part of it, but the bigger issue is that I am considering a career change to management/supervision.  The word I've heard that this particular job move will report to some micromanaging superintendents and hard to work for upper management folk, as well as my duty to manage union workers (fun, fun, fun).

Though I'd like to stay where I am and do chemistry  til I retire (maybe about 12 years) this government contractor I work for has an affinity for outsourcing work, and we know for a fact that their goal is to do away with our lab jobs.  They are D&Ding our nuclear site, and my building is a hard target on their list of (expensive operating) structures to tear down ASAP.  It's not a question of "if" they are going to dismantle our group, but merely of when, and I don't want to be there when that happens.  To complicate matters, I was just told today that the Site/Plant/Project manager stated that he is frustrated with some of the outsourced laboratory contractor's work and wants to "build our own lab".  It's a constant roller-coaster ride, but I am concerned I may be jumping from a frying pan to the fire.

Praying for God's purpose and direction for you.
