A Serious Question...

Theoretically, if I ever decided to visit HAC and attend a chapel service and perhaps walk around the campus and brought my wife who would be wearing slacks, would she/we be welcomed? I'm sure this has happened in the past to someone.

And I state again, this is a theoretical question, because I think my wife would probably suffer a stroke, heart attack or something similar at such a visit, because while I have attempted to inform her of the life I lived there fifty years ago, I don't think that someone outside "the camp" (she was brought up Methodist) could ever really appreciate how that place is from a verbal description. I would like to avoid a near death experience for her if possible. 😆
 
I just don’t believe your wife needs to be wearing pants, to be honest. Ever read Deuteronomy chapter 22?

If there was ever any reason to be a fundamentalist missionary, the only one I can think of is to answer that question in as inappropriate a manner as possible.
 
No they will not allow you on campus with your wife wearing pants. There is nothing wrong with pants on a woman but they believe otherwise.

You see, the whole texting thing. I was definitely only joking. I really did think people would laugh at this. Oh well it didn’t hit like I thought it would. Yes, my wife wears pants.

That's a very good question!

I worked at the HAC receptionist desk for a brief period during the late 70s. One of the women who left school came back to visit wearing pants. Maybe it was to get some of her belongings. Not sure.

Such a big deal over nothing!

One of the hardest things for me during that time was to explain to someone outside of our IFB circle why girls were not allowed to wear pants. Of course, the reason it was difficult was that I didn't believe it myself!

Jo, there is no trip planned. I was just wondering...I mean, I guess they would let a female utility worker in if she was wearing pants, right?

Sherry, do you know this for a fact? I mean, you are saying that they will not accept female GUESTS onto the campus if they are wearing pants??? That hardly seems evangelistic.

It happened to me with my cousins who had pants on they only entered the lobby. Call and ask the receptionist tomorrow

So, your cousins, visitors who were being accompanied by you, were told to leave the campus, solely because they were wearing pants?

Might I ask what year this was?

Second, could someone please explain to me how this would advance the cause of Christ in any way?
 
Justice, My cousins live in Chicago they thought I was crazy until years later when we talked about it. I was not married so it was 1975-1976. Danny didn't come to college until January 1976. Security at that time was ran by a man last name Perry. He left and then Clyde ran Security for many years until they cleaned house removing over 40 people. That was just maybe 5 years ago. I don't trust anyone on staff there now. I'll stop

40 people worked in security at the college at one time?! That's a lot of people. Maybe you were talking about the church and school security people?
