A Serious Question...

My apologies for not making the distinction between Liberty girls being forced to wear Sunday dresses to daily classes but not having to wear a dress while rock climbing or riding a horse.

Better? 🙄
It is usually better to say what you mean…
Especially in the context of this conversation.

Girls didn't wear pants at college but when they got home they did lol. This makes me laugh now. My husband didn't like pants on women and I respected him for it. He passed away February 2023 and I now wear pants. I believe we were brainwashed in many areas .............
Sherry did you wear pants when you went home?? ;)

I grew up in a place in the south that was VERY conservative, but all the women wore pants. I thought it was a bit strange to preach against it. However, my pastor was vehement that pants weren't to be worn at church. He didn't care if a woman wore them shopping or washing or planting flowers or to the football game, etc. But NOT in the sanctuary. I'm not really sure how he squared this from the scriptures but nobody seemed to care, including me. This was fifty years ago!

Some in the pic wearing pants appear to me to be "riders" rather than students. Those females who appear to me to (more likely) be students have a skirt of some sort on. I don't think female bus riders were ever expected to have on skirts.

The only question more contentious in fundy circles than whether women ought to wear pants, is whether women are actually wearing pants. :ROFLMAO:

I did. You’re the one trying to skirt (no pun intended) the rules! When speaking of girls being allowed to wear pants to s college, I didn’t realize you wanted a clause for bowling and horseback riding. Going to college consists of attending daily classes on campus. If Liberty said girls had to wear dresses to class and chapel, then it’s disingenuous of you to act like Liberty allowed women to wear pants.

As I’ve stated twice…HAC now allows women to wear pants, so it seems moot now to worry.
Hold up, wait a minute. Are you telling me that HAC allows their female students to wear pants to class?

I honestly do not believe it.

The context of this whole conversation was Hyles Anderson prohibiting women, even guests on a campus visit from wearing pants…period.

Now if it bothers you that much to be wrong I’ll say ok.

Ok.

HAC released a promotional video yesterday. In the (almost) six minute video I see no females in pants. There is nothing in that video that leads me to believe that the rule has been relaxed.

Unrelated, the video is pretty well produced. I only take issue with one statement, that the college was founded in 1972 as a inter alia "King James Bible only" institution. I was there by 1976. It was not KJV only in those days.

Unless and until someone can prove me wrong, then I’m not.

You little old lady…stop talking and focus. This is about HAC. Stop making it about yourself.
Great argument.

P.S. Liberty is far from perfect but never in it’s history did it forbid women from wearing pants.

Jack Hyles certainly "Preferred" the King James back in the early 80s (1983-1984) when I first heard him but did not go off the deep-end towards the "Ruckmanite" level of KJVO nuttiness until around 1989 when the Sumner articles came out. Of course I myself was hard-core KJVO and shouting "HAAAAAYMEN" to all of his nonsense unfortunately.
