From a former police officer.
"I guess that?s where the similarities end Colin. You entertain for a living, I and almost 800,000 others across this country serve and protect. Are there some bad apples within my profession? Absolutely and they need to be identified and fired or arrested! But you know what, the vast majority do the right thing, the right way, for the right reason. Did I mention that seconds before I was shot, an elderly African American gentleman walking down the sidewalk, turned to my partner and I as we rode past and said, ?Get them.? Get who you ask? The thugs terrorizing an otherwise good and decent neighborhood, home to dozens of good, decent African American families trying to raise those families in communities not protected by gates and security guards. No these folks and families depend on America?s Law Enforcement Officers."

I actually agree with this officer. The problem is those who are identified ARE NOT being arrested or fired. Case in point? The officers who killed Freddie Gray.

Lol@ "serve and protect"

earnestly contend

"The problem is those who are identified ARE NOT being arrested or fired. Case in point? The officers who killed Freddie Gray."

One can't be any more dishonest.  The officers were tried and acquitted while many believe the prosecutor who is being sued for defamation should be the one charged with a crime.  Officers breaking the law should be prosecuted but Smellin and his supporters see "racism" under every rock while painting law enforcement as nothing but racists.

On a per-capita basis, Baltimore has had the deadliest ever year in the city. The year's tally of 344 homicides was second only to the record 353 in 1993, when Baltimore had about 100,000 more residents.

More than 90 percent of the homicide victims this year were boys or men, more than 90 percent were black, and more than half were between the ages of 18 and 30.  There?s been a 6.1 percent drop in its police force because who wants to risk his life knowing a target is on his back and the prosecutor is out to get him on any slip up in order to "keep the peace"?

I hope Kaepernick is not taking the day off work. This is an American holiday.

The thought of taking the day off is kind of funny when he barely has a job.  :D
