I in no way defend Steven Anderson.

But when atheists and secular humanists call him "dangerous" for his beliefs, we are all in trouble.  Censhorship for preaching is right around the corner.

"For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain." (Titus 1:10-11)

I'm as much a free-speech advocate as you're going to find, but the rules are a bit different for those who are trying to influence the church. The Bible isn't against denying false teachers a voice.

The end of tI find that line concerning since the Bible should be taken literally by a genuine Christian .... there is a real hell, heaven, God, way of Salvation ....

Anderson takes parts of the Bible literally that aren't meant to be taken literally. Hence his infamous "pisseth against the wall" sermon. (That particular phrase is a metaphor for an impertinent little boy, not literally instructions for urinating.)

I defend his right to say what he thinks just as I would an atheist, a Nazi, a KKK member or a member of the Black supremacy movement.

That being said, I think preachers like Steve Anderson are all about shock comments and hurt the cause of Christ and the name Baptist just like the nuts from Westboro.

Spamderson loves the OT rules and regs.

So couldn't we just just stone him as the false prophet that he has proven himself to be?

Absolutely.

As I have every right to say, "He is wrong, and here is why. Anderson does not speak for any Christians but himself. In my church, his views are not tolerated. So if you're looking for some explanation or defense of his ravings, go ask him. He's on his own."

Why doesn't the guy just go and candidate for the pastorate at Westboro?

Because Anderson's standards are too high for them.

I just wish these nut case churches would drop the "Baptist" from their name.

How about Faithful Word Church or maybe Faith to our Preachers Word Church or something.

I just wish they'd drop an incendiary device on their "church."

Then instead of "Faithful Word Baptist Church," we could call it "the crater."

That would work also.

A Anderson disciple gets his 5 minutes of fame.

Anderson is a despicable human being. We do not condone homosexuality. It is a vile sin but we mourn any loss of life and desire to see people saved before they go into a Christless eternity.
