They used to anyway. I remember going through Vegas and having $5.99 Prime Rib! Now everything is wicked expensive and not much fun!:confused:

But we do sometimes stop off at casinos in Lake Charles, LA and Biloxi, MS on our way to Pensacola or whatever. I prefer them over what they have in Vegas these days.
 
We go to the Biloxi casinos at Thanksgiving and Cristmas.
 
I've exchanged currency for no charge at Kawadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and also one in Niagra Falls, Ontario. I didn't go into the casino proper, just up to the booth to exchange and save money.
 
There's a caSINo on the east edge of town called the Clearwater River CaSINo. It used to be a great place to take in a concert until ZZ-Top showed up there. Now, they think they are a top shelf concert venue and their prices reflect such.

It was a bit annoying going there because in order to get to the concert hall, you had to walk by all the slot machines in the smoking section but if it was a good act, the reasonable prices sorta made up for it. Not any more.

Another feature of every caSINo is the overwhelming darkness that is prevalent. I didn't notice it when I was younger but now, I can't go in anymore without feeling a dark foreboding; the empty faces staring into the lights... People mindlessly pushing buttons... No thanks.

I don't judge anyone who can stomach it and even drop a few coins (do they still have coin slots?) but it's just not my scene.

I only gamble when I go on a cruise, and even then, I limit it to about $20 on the slot machine. It gives me something to do for a little while if it’s raining or whatever. Once my cash is depleted, I leave and find something else to do.

I grew up watching The Twilight Zone and probably saw just about every episode when they originally came out. Back then foul language was strictly forbidden on television and most of the shows had a moral to the stories. In 1960 “The Fever” was aired which gives a glimpse of the addiction gambling can have on many people. Here is a short synopsis of that episode.
