What fools!
1. The prophecy was about the return from the Babylonian captivity.
2. The future, or now present, Gog and Magog are the armies of Satan in array against the
saints, not against a political state of atheists and unbelievers.
3. They completely ignore Ezekiel 37.
4. I can't wait to hear the new explanation of their failed predictions.
The
context of the battle of
Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38 is the
“latter days.” The
context of the battle of
Gog and Magog in Revelation 20 is
one thousand years after Jesus Christ has reigned on the earth. These are obviously two different battles.
Amos 9:14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
Amos 9:15 I will plant them on their land, and
they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the LORD your God.
The prophet Amos is very clear that once God puts them back in their land they will
never be uprooted out of the land again. This prophecy was not fulfilled in the
Babylonian Captivity, for they were driven out of the land after that.
Isa 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day,
that the Lord shall set his hand again
the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Jer 16:15 but ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ For I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers. But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel
from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
The march from Egypt to Canaan was not a
restoration. You cannot have anything restored to you unless it has been in your possession before, and
Palestine was never in possession of the children of Israel until
after the conquest by Joshua.
The purpose of the restoration is God’s glory (Eze 36:19-23) in the same
context of Ezekiel 38.
Eze 36:19 I scattered them among the nations, and
they were dispersed through the countries. In accordance with their ways and their deeds I judged them.
Eze 36:20 But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that people said of them, ‘These are the people of the LORD, and yet they had to go out of his land.’
Eze 36:21 But
I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations to which they came.
Eze 36:22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD:
It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act,
but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.
Eze 36:23 And
I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them.
And the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.
You along with the entire world will soon learn that God’s word will not be mocked but everything will come to pass exactly as declared by the prophets. God will keep His promises to Israel and no power in hell or on earth will destroy it.
Israel as a nation will exist as long as there is a sun, a moon, and the stars (Jer 31:35-36). And let all the people say
Amen!
