I am pretty sure that all of us are on board in calling Mr. Assad a sick, wicked, evil person.

Yet, every one of you believe in and worship a God who created a situation in which human beings are daily being consigned to a state of eternal torment in a Lake of Fire.

Talk about sick!

Talk about sick!

Someday you will have the opportunity to let Him know of your disapproval.

Route_70... you need to rephrase this. If you are genuinely interested in discussing Theodicy, then do so without blasphemous rhetoric.

Okay, how about this:

The thought and idea of anyone being consigned to an eternal state of suffering is sick and sadistic.  Anyone who actually believes that is sick and unhinged.  And if there is a God, and if he did create this situation, then he is sick and sadistic and deserving of the same punishment.

And someday Mr. Assad will be one of those so consigned, because he is a sick, wicked, evil person.  Seems perfectly just to me.

And I suppose you feel the same about most of his victims -- they will be so consigned to eternal punishment just because they are not saved.  That seems perfectly just  to you.

I fail to see what is unjust about it. Probably because you just took that for granted without bothering to explain.

I don't like Hell either. I don't like the thought of people suffering eternally. There are a lot of things in the Bible that I don't like, but not liking something is not enough to make that something untrue. And this is the truth: Hell is a choice. If I were you, I wouldn't pick it!

Everyone goes to hell.  Hell is nothing more than the grave.  So, no: hell is not a choice -- you have no choice; there is no alternative.  Everyone goes to hell.

As for the Lake of Fire?

Assad is willingly doing as he pleases. Before God gets the blame, certainly many in this world have the power to stop Assad. In fact, this all could have been prevented, except we had a president who drew a line in the sand which meant nothing.

Route_70, why don't you share some of this blame for doing nothing to prevent this before you blame God?

Route_70... you are a sick man!

"[Jesus] saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Mark 2:17)."

I am so sorry that you and your self-righteous cohort, Random, get let out.

Neither of us are assuming to be God's judge.

I read a quote recently that hit home and, I believe, applies in this case.  It said something like, instead of blaming man for his wickedness, we prefer to blame God.

Perhaps the most absurd doctrine preached by the self-righteous:

All mankind is born with a sin nature; yet, all mankind has a free-will choice whether to sin or not.  Even so, all mankind chooses to sin, anyway, because it is impossible not to sin; ergo, all mankind is wicked by choice.  Because of his wickedness (which he really had no choice but to commit, even though he has a free-will choice not to, if he so chooses, which he does not choose because he has a sin nature),  all mankind is destined to eternal torment if he does not trust in a loving God.

This is so absurd that it boggles the mind that so many people still believe this.

The irony is that Route_70 is able to judge others as self-righteous while at the same time claiming God to be wicked.

There is no God.

You have taken His throne for yourself by casting judgment on others about righteousness and wickedness. If there is no God, then whether Assad is evil or not is a moot point to you.

Since there is a God (and you know that), your self-righteousness reeks badly.

You show yourself to be a fool...one day you will stand before the God you foolishly say does not exist...I would wish you would as His child, but clearly you have chosen otherwise.  Crazy how hard you fight against a God that you say doesn't exist...is your real name Don Quixote?

You are saying that if indeed God does not exist then what Assad is doing is just fine with you.  You are saying that without God we cannot know that what Assad did in dropping those chemical bombs is evil.

What ignorance!
