Here is another of those old paths guys.

Hugo Capeto, Rey de Francia (940-996)

I'd like to see them try to burn his hair off. He might chop their heads off.

Old Path Guy

Whats with that guys scepter or is that a back scratcher?

I found this, but I believe the significance is more profound.

In France the royal sceptre was tipped with a fleur de lys, and the other, known as the main de justice, had an open hand of benediction on the top.

This gesture, in which his first two fingers and his thumb are extended and his third and fourth finger are closed, is among the most frequently occurring of Christ's hand gestures in Christian art. It emerged as a sign of benediction (or blessing) in early Christian and Byzantine art, and its use continued through the Medieval period, and into the Renaissance.

I would think this would be enough to make an old path guy tingle all over.

But the raw horsepower exhibited! Not exactly unbridled but it has a certain carriage around it.

From the article:
The leader of a dissident Amish sect was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in prison for a series of bizarre beard- and hair-cutting attacks on other Ohio Amish that drew national attention.

Samuel Mullet Sr., 67, the leader, was sentenced in Federal District Court in Cleveland for coordinating assaults that prosecutors argued were motivated by religious intolerance. Fifteen of his followers, including six women, were given lesser sentences, ranging from one year and one day to seven years.

Samuel Mullet???  :D
Mullet?? You can't make this stuff up!!!

Have had my beard for 35 years.

If I try to shave I end up with multiple in-grown hairs. I suppose the the old path folk would tell me to just to suffer for Jesus like they tell the women who can't have long hair due to headaches.
