Though I essentially agree, what do you make of the possible relevance of wisdom literature Scriptures when they speak of correcting a fool with harsh physical corporal punishment?

Except traffic laws. Those you should ignore then brag about on social media.

Apparently pastors get to pick and choose when to obey the law.

(I get the strong suspicion that had a black teenager been riding around with eight folks in a Civic, people would be cheering the police state for stopping the little hood rats, not brushing it off as "oh well".)

Do you understand the difference between an incorrigible delinquent and a silly mistake that may be repented of?

It apparently is defined by whatever you say it is, because it's not based on the law. In fact, the one who should be held to the higher standard is the one you readily dismiss.

To conflate the two, again, shows why you should not handle the word of God in a teaching capacity.

To dismiss one while claiming the second deserves a beat down shows that you have a double standard and lack grace for "the least of these".

Yeah, the delinquent who was disobeying known classroom rules by using their cellphone during class, who ignored repeated requests/commands by the teacher to put it away, who then refused his command to leave the class and report to administration, who then ignored the command of another rightful and legitimate authority, who then refused law enforcement officers direct and lawful command to stand up.....


yeah, that's one of those Christ was referring to when he said "one of the least of these".  :

Instead keep defending the pastor is who called to be an example to the flock in his submission to the earthly authorities who deliberately disobeyed well known traffic laws thereby putting his members at greater risk of physical harm who then turned around and bragged about it on social media.

Keep typing.  You prove that you are a novice daily.

And you keep proving that you have no standards other than "cause I said so" every time you are blatantly inconsistent in your application of the principles you say should govern our lives. (See also: double standard.)

Black teenager flouts authority. She deserves a broken arm from the the police state because the life of a transgressor is hard. White conservative pastor flouts authority. It's nothing more than people looking for a reason to vilify him (completely ignoring the fact that he bragged about it publicly).

It is a general truth that you can tell a WHOLE lot about a person by simply listening to them, the themes they focus on, the words they choose to use, etc. 

Your apparent white guilt is not shared by people who don't have the same racial bias you have or had.  I could not possibly care less what color she was in making my evaluation, but apparently you see the world in all sorts of colors before you make judgments, then you project those biases onto every other person as if they were in your messed up mind.

But two things are obvious in this conversation: you think the law should be selectively applied to certain people and when those people violate the law, excessive force is deserved.

UPDATE: According to the young lady's attorney she  IS NOT at school and charges against her have not been dropped.

The officer isn't speaking to the media but a group of 100 Spring Valley High School students staged at 15 minute protest..asking that the officer be re-instated...not going to happen of course.
