I have two cockatiels.  Even though one is extraordinarily noisy, they bring a lot of joy to my life.  I'm even allergic to their dander, but I can control it well enough to enjoy them thoroughly.  My son taught one to fly to your finger if you hold up your finger.  I had to clip its wings, though, because I then bought a second one to give the first one company.  Flying made the other one panic, so now they're both clipped.  When their wings grow out, I'll teach both to fly to me.

They love to hang out on my shoulder, and the first one loves to be hand-preened on its neck.  The second one is warming up to that now.  She wouldn't even get on my finger at first, and now that comes naturally, so she's getting tame quickly.

They're young, clumsy, and a bit stupid (although they will eventually be very smart birds), so they're fun to watch.

The cinnamon yellow bird is named Pikachu.  The gray natural colored bird is Mei.

I love making birdies rather than pars.  On the other hand I prefer my birdie fried!

Some people call pet birds "fids" as in Feathered Kids.

I used to own several cockatiels.  They make great pets.
