I just think most Christians today (including the IFB folks) don’t consider some items taboo that were considered such a few decades ago. Trick-or-treating is one of those items. Certain secular music is another one I’ve noticed. I’m in the process of leaving an IFB church and I’ve noticed that the parents of teens in the IFB church have about the same mindset I do on these formerly hot-ticket issues. I think it’s more generational than anything because I remember as teenagers us questioning why some of these issues were so forbidden. Well, now those former teenagers have teenage kids ourselves. Of course, there are always a few outliers and hardliners mixed in still.
