Christian author confesses years-long extramarital affair, declaring he 'disqualified' himself from ministry

It’s funny because because in comparison to the sexual exploits of the previously mentioned presidents, Carter got bludgeoned for admitting to “lust in his heart.” It must be difficult for you to go through life lacking a sense of humor. There might be counseling available if you seek it.
My error.

Didn't see it from that angle. The way all the other examples have been downplayed I took it the opposite of how you intended.

There can be no doubt the family dynamic has fundamentally changed. It's a tragic thing, but their ages won't mitigate the consequences of his sin.

I didn't say anything about going before a judge right away if at all. I said they needed to separate.
If they both choose to do that, it would be for the purpose to seek reconciliation if at all possible

i saw his name on a few books at the christian book stores... .. but never read of them.... didn;t know anything about him until i saw this thread.....
He wrote a famous book called "What's so Amazing about Grace." But it was not an amazing book. Very average. Chuck Swindoll's book Grace Awakening (which was more about legalism than grace) was better by far. He was a big conference speaker for years, although I never heard him or cared to. He's watered down Christianity.
