Church: Is it a "home" or a "park"?

Interesting article and something similar to a discussion I had today at lunch with a couple of friends.
Whether its the overzealous all powerful pastor or the overzealous member seeking power...... church really has long been nothing more than a struggling social experiment seeking to fulfill a need of the human spirit that can only be filled through an intimate, individual relationship with Jesus Christ. This is one of the reasons why church after church after church after church continually battles the very fundamentals of relationship. Its tries too hard for too long to be "Christ" to its members. That will never happen. Its impossible.
What's even worse..... we think we are getting it right......When we haven't built on the "Foundation".
