Cindy is moving to NC I guess that is true

Moving truck is there this morning. House does not have a for sale sign though. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe she doesn't have to sell it and plans to keep it? I don't know.

You can sale a house with out the sign up

There are a great number of real-estate professionals at FBCH that would have been glad to help her sell the house without any sign.

This is just my own question, and I know nothing to support what I am wondering. But, is it possible she cannot sell the house? Wasn't there some talk of a civil suit against JS? Is it possible that their assets are frozen?

Someone with legal knowledge help

Assets frozen - that is strong language to use, but partially true. A lawyer representing someone (or anyone for any reason for that matter) can go in an put a lien on a person's house. They do not have to prove their reason for doing so. The Feds put liens on militia member's real estate all the time just to intimidate and mess with them.

Often times the person targeted is not even aware of the lien until they apply for a loan on the property, try to sell the property or check the assessor's records in their county. The "assets frozen" part is this - the person thinking about buying the house or the bank the owner is trying to get a loan through then decides if they want to proceed knowing a lien exists. It is usually a deal killer, but essentially the asset is not frozen.

So if you really hate someone and want to ruin their life, just pop on down to the county and file a lien on any real estate that they own. They won't know about it until years later and then they have to prove their is no cause for the lien.  :'(

God never intended for pastors to be anointed.

Can anyone find a NT pastor that was anointed?

But I also believe that if someone preached a hot message that the moon was made of green cheese, the altar would be filled.

I think this has been the bane of the IFB "Movement" for a long time now. We have elevated delivery far above content, and seek only to have our emotions stirred rather than our lives changed.

IMO these type guys preach "about" the Bible, rather than preaching "the" Bible.

Also, I would like to say that, to make a broad statement about the IFB is incorrect.  There are many IFB pastors that have not been influenced by this type delivery or style.  They actually study and preach withing context.
There is a side of the IFB movement that does not nor have they ever wanted to be associated with the "HYLES MOVEMENT".
So when your say, "I think this has been the bane of the IFB "Movement" for a long time now."  I think what you mean is the "HYLES MOVEMENT".  There are many people that are IFB that do not know that such a place like FBC exist.  Their pastor may, but I promise you he on purpose does not make mention of these people from behind pulpit.

We are taking up a special offering for the Webers tonight...and a special offering for Cindy Schaap on Wednesday. Just fyi. You can probably contribute online if you wish to participate...

So glad I am not an employee or member anymore.  I would have some issues with this.  So many others have left without such fanfare or financial assistance.

It should be done for all or just privately card with a love offering.

I normally agree with your posts. This situation to me is a bit different. The new pastor being magnanimous to the former " first family" (not a Biblical title by any means). Really, what else can he do in this situation? Not say anything at all while they move on? Not that I felt Todd or Jaclynn needed a special send off beyond just an announcement but for Mrs Schaap I feel Bro Wilkerson did what any class act individual would do.

(Of course like anything else, we each have a choice as to whether to give tonight or Wednesday.)

I think it would be okay to mention it, but to dedicate an offering to them seems a bit over the top.

Although a victim too, I highly doubt that Cindy was naive to the situation at hand, at least fiscally. It would be highly improbable for an individual to observe the personnel that were employed at other part of the ministry and the materials that they used on projects that took weeks to construct and complete at their own personal home.  Being the Pastor's daughter for many years, and the Pastor's husband for many years, if anyone knew what kind of funds were paid to the pastor, it would be her.  Both their names were listed on the property in Crete,  a huge purchase at $628,000......  I can not see how she would not have been aware of what was going on.  As a member and employee (which many were laid off or received deep pay cuts) it would be a very tough pill to swallow when the Pastor wants the members to give to bid them adieu.

Wilkerson is definitely a class act, I do not doubt that.  I was speaking as myself sitting in the pew and being told that an offering was being dedicated to them while better, more valuable employees were discarded like refuse at the hands of Lapina who did not even have the guts to meet with the people he was firing.

The nice thing is that apparently people have the option to give or not give.  That is certainly better than just taking money from the general fund and giving them a send off.

And regardless of what you may believe, Cindy and family should not be made to suffer more because of Jack's sins (either one of the two Jack's, the one in the box, or the one in the cooler).  Just ignoring them and forcing them to slink out of town would set an evil precedent.  And although many others in the history of these ministries left without fanfare, it just would not be right for the former pastor's family to be treated like castaways.  If the people of the church are that hurt, or thinking that family has enough money as it is, then they can vote with their wallets at the Wed Night Offering.  But otherwise, I would hope that if something ever happened to my pastor, even if it were a fall into sin, my home church would have enough appreciation for the service of the family to the ministry, often times sacrifices made without remuneration, as to help them settle elsewhere.

I had a tough time with the love offering they had at this weekends services at South Point..... Yes it's a nice thought, but I feel that could have went to another family that really needs it. Like it was said a few posts ago she has a 628k house for sale and a second one that is probably on the market in Dyer for about 200k so someone who has 800k just in 2 houses don't need a "Love Offering".

Just my opinion

I don't think it is about their "need" as much as it is about the Church's need to show respect for service.  Again, since it is a voluntary offering, each individual can make their determination.  I suspect that if it is known that there is $800K in real estate, many believers will probably opt out and said offering will be somewhat low.  But regardless, it would be a sad precedent should the former pastor's wife and children be completely ignored.  This is more about the giver than the receiver.

qwerty do we know if her assets are still froze? I just don't see Cindy having a problem finding money...mom,millionaire father in law... did I leave anyone out?  My friend was let go he had a heart attack I'm sure they took an offering up for him.......

This is a tough situation for a new pastor, so maybe he did the right thing. My beef is that I have talked to nobody who was even sure what she has gotten already. When this first happened a year ago they had decided to continue her salary from Christian Womanhood which is now defunct. Then I heard that she was getting her husband's entire salary and benefits. This is one of the HUGE problems. Nobody knows. The people that do will not tell anyone or let the membership know what is going on. Just put your money in the offering plate, shut up, and trust us to do the right thing.

That trust issue,... For some it will take a long time to rebuild. As long as EL is there there will always be doubt. I don't speak for everyone of course, some will just go along with whatever is going on. It does seem there are more people like us than there used to be. At least it seems that way

We need a secret handshake... That way, during handshaking time, we can identify one another!
