foul weather days?.... .no comprende'.... here even the rainiest day is warm and friendly enough to play outdoors.. and not be stuck in the house.. .. unless... of course.. you are talking about hurricanes.. 🌀 ...but when those happen the tv is 100% on a news channel to track the storm.... until the power goes out.... ;)

by the way.... when you make statements about what is or isn;t an option with regard to kids... or what you think kids naturally want...... you should clarify that you are talking about your own kids.... and not anyone elses.....i spent my early childhood watching tv during the day..... but then i spent my teenage years mostly without it... and i did not miss it at all... . i know a lot of families raising their kids free of television today too .... ..and they don;t appear to miss it either...

a lot of new posters come to these forums claiming to want advice on what they should do.... when in reality they are just seeking validation on a decision they have already made..... others come here for no other reason than to troll.... ..a few are sincere..... .no offense... but i haven;t decided what to think of you yet... .. and from what i can tell i might not be alone in that regard.... ..
No offense taken. I hope you also don’t take offense that I’m not too worried about your opinion since you’ve already stated you don’t have kids.

That's commendable. Especially with technology these days and nearly every kid has a smartphone/tablet.
Not knowing the ages of his kids…if he raised kids with no TV back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, that’s one thing, but we’re now in the 2020s. Also, I notice he doesn’t abstain from the internet, which is potentially far more dangerous than TV - for both kids and adults!

your worries or lack thereof are not my concern.. .... but don;t assume that because i have no children of my own i am not actively involved in helping those many other families i mentioned to teach and mentor theirs.... ..

part of me wishes i could have them come here and tell it from their side of things... .. but unfortunately.. as well as cutting the cord to the television.. they have also cut the cable to the internet... .. and those who have not are simply too busy actually raising their kids to have any time for places like this anyway.... ...

plus ..if they are like me .. they probably doubt anything they said would change your mind.. (as if they cared to).. ..... they have been told plenty of times already ..by other critics of their choices... that they have "a lot of good points" only to see the critics keep on critique-ing.... sometimes in even more negative and hostile ways....

which brings up a question..... if you are so actively involved and concerned with raising your own kids why are you spending so much time here?.... ... what are they doing with their summer days out of school whlle you waste time on the internet?.......

If you’d care to compare the amount of words I’ve posted since joining this site with the amount of words you’ve posted since I’ve joined, feel free. I think you’ll find one side much more lopsided than the other. Also, please note that you first chose to make it personal by questioning my motives and sincerity, and by letting me know you’re sitting back like the queen bee and holding out judgment on me. Have a lovely day. Aloha.

but i;m not the one claiming to have children who might be damaged if i don;t find them a "clean" tv show for them to waste time watching.... .... and in reality... i;m not that far removed from still being a child myself.... ....i do the things i do from day to day because i want to do them.... and because it helps the other people in my life for me to do them.... but i;m still.. for all practical purposes, under the supervision and in the full time care of the family that took me in when i was 10... .. ..

however... though limited in many ways.... my time still doesn;t actually belong to anybody other than me.... my family and my doctors would not be happy in the least about it... if i wasted all my time every day... .. ...but it would not ruin anybodys life... . much less a childs life or development....

but you might take note that i no longer question your motives or sincerety.... i think with this latest post you made... in which you went full out on the attack yet still failed to answer any questions, or even address any answers given back to you concerning your own... that you have made your motives and sincerety quite clear.....

this is rich... when you realize it;s made by the same "parent" of children who just defended his own time spent on the internet.. and tried to compare it to mine.. when i have no kids and 24/7 to waste if i wanted to... 😏

We raised our kids with no tv. Now two of mine are raising theirs with no tv. Both of those children are walking with the Lord and are fully employed in highly successful ways, and service Christ in their local church. The other two don't watch tv. One wil be a missionary, the other is a medical professional. No one needs tv.
that is awesome.... .one of the archery students i started teaching when he was 8 years old, was raised without a television even being in the house..... he was accepted at juliard when he was still in highschool.. (just a few years ago)... and is in college there now.... doing very well... . . ..his parents knew what they were doing... but as i remember it they encountered a lot of scorn and criticism from many parents of other children when he was growing up..... . so did the single adoptive parent and firefighter / paramedic that raised me and my adoptive siblings... .. ....especially when they saw how we acted growing up "in the wild" so to speak.....

Well Dr. Larry Brown became infamous for smashing televisions during his sermon/routines. Dr. Brown truly was inspired by two of God's clowns, Jack Hyles and Gallagher.

If i raised kids in the 60's I'd be 80-90 years old. I log on here for a total of 5-10 minutes a day. And my job is all conducted on the internet. It has nothing to do with abstaining. It has to do with how I conduct my life. I don't watch tv, rarely watch movies, and only use the internet for communication, other than this one place I come. I have no social media, and have no intention of it.
I said 60s, 70s or 80s, but good job just picking one of those for your comment.

Yep…it’s pretty obvious.

What, are you trying to pin me down and put me in a box and say that tv in later years was worse. Tv in all those years had no God.
Yes, obviously TV today is far worse than decades ago. Maybe The Andy Griffith Show wasn’t Christian per se, but there are certainly plenty of Christian morals taught in numerous episodes. Also, I’ve never found a classic show like Andy Griffith promoting the trans movement or numerous other modern day ideas.

Same goes for Leave it To Beaver and even Full House (not the woke Fuller House on Netflix). Even the "Insight" series (1960-1984) had good lessons and morals most of the time. It had a heavy Roman Catholic theme to it but was considered the "First Christian Television" series.

Do you realize you don't have to hijack every thread to tell us what these fools' idiotic opinions are?

Or any thread, for that matter.
He's not adding any spice to the forums...just his usual idiocy.
