I don't think it gets more secure than being born either damned or saved and your state never changes. Now they may try to identify who those elect are based on their interest in and what they do for God. But in their book your born with it or your not. In fact I've heard some extreme ones say they did not ever need to accept Christ since they were born with it or without it. Arminians disagree with eternal security but they teach that's what "perseverance of the saints" means.Eternal security is a Free Grace doctrine. Not a Calvinist doctrine. The Calvinists have a paradoxical view they'd like to call "Eternal Security", but it is dependent on their works therefore it's not eternal security:
The New Calvinists are even bigger legalists than the IFB, they just do it in a much more dangerous area: Salvation, not clothing or trailer park cults.
Context, though, is everything when it comes to not tainting the Gospel of Grace with works.and your state never changes.
How does it send them to Hell? If they have accepted Christ I thought they were eternally secure?Calvinism will be dead forever. Heretical works salvation "Perseverance" doctrine sending many to hell.
I don't think anyone is proclaiming the Wesleyan doctrine of sinless perfection. But if their is no change in your life after salvation - there is definitely reason to question it regardless of which system you subscribe to.Context, though, is everything when it comes to not tainting the Gospel of Grace with works.
Seems like you don't understand the Baptism into Christ, the creation of the new man, and the fact that we still live in our old man and its state didn't change when we were placed into Christ.
That is not what Calvinists or Arminians believe. They may pay lip service to that phrase, but immediately contradict themselves, here's how:How does it send them to Hell? If they have accepted Christ I thought they were eternally secure?
I have people that try to tell me the same thing because I reject eternal security. Especially being at an IFB they are always trying to resave me. My question is always the same. Since I knew nothing of the doctrine of eternal security when I got saved, did I then lose my salvation 1.5 years later when I learned of the doctrine of eternal security and rejected it?That is not what Calvinists or Arminians believe. They may pay lip service to that phrase, but immediately contradict themselves, here's how:
Calvinists believe they can't know for 100% certain whether they are one of the elect until after they've persevered to the end (all of my Calvinist friends have told me this), which is why they must be careful to keep working to persevere to the end in holy living, as their works are the verification that they were really justified to begin with,
but here's the key: they say God predestined you to work to the end ahead of time, and since God controls everything and you have no free will, it's God making you work to the end. Guess what? You're still working for your salvation.
Calvinism is a paradox. Nothing more, nothing less. It is heresy.
In some regards, Catholicism is better because at least Catholics are upfront and honest that they are works Salvationists and believe you must Persevere in Good Works to the End (they just don't believe in Calvin's INSANE made-up version of it).
Of course, UGC is 100% against Catholicism as well. Not the people, which we try to reach without barking them down and scaring them away, but the system.
If you were convicted that you are indeed a sinner, guilty before God, not a good person who doesn't need God, but a sinner who cannot do anything to save himself, placing your full trust on the finished work of the cross, that Jesus Christ paid for all your sins when he died, was buried, and rose again 3 days later, you are saved, and you are eternally secure whether you realize it or not. That's faith alone.Since I knew nothing of the doctrine of eternal security when I got saved, did I then lose my salvation 1.5 years later when I learned of the doctrine of eternal security and rejected it?
So what would a Calvinist say about someone who served faithfully for 10 years then gave up and rejected God?That is not what Calvinists or Arminians believe. They may pay lip service to that phrase, but immediately contradict themselves, here's how:

Listen to the testimony of someone from DTS himself:
Awesome! It's a shame you don't understand it.I own Ryrie's Theology.
It's a shame you don't understand it.
So... Read Ryrie's theology... Do you think that there were no "free grace" Calvinists?
Your knowledge of history is sorely lacking.
Good job.“Holy Spirit departed from Saul”
Doctored quotations also prove you're a complete liar.Good job.
Don't worry, UGC is going to run a full operation exposing this little "Fundamental Baptist Forum" front group you got going on here.Doctored quotations also prove you're a complete liar.
