Ok, let's get it on the calendar.... Dreaming ain't doing, so let's go to Hawaii. T-Bone, contact the SBC and see if they will give u permission to go. JJ, find a woman so u can get married while u are there. I'll bring my wife and she can ride with me on the Harley... in coulottes. A can point us to the best restaurants, and educate us on the use of primitive weapons. FSSL can ban any line of conversation he finds offensive. Sub is good for some laughs, so he's invited. Ransom can contribute to the fun by staying home.

.300 Win Mag. Shot him at 416 yards. By November, rut is done so the are not coming to u, u have to go to them. We would hike up the back of the mountain to the top before first light to try and catch them coming up from nightly feeding. During the day we would still hunt the high timbers, then hike back too camp early afternoon. Late afternoon, we would climb the mountain using the ravines for cover and try to catch them coming down to feed.
I would love to go back in 2018 early Sept to bow hunt the rut. We'll see.

Thankfully there were 4 of us hunting together. We packed down about 250 lbs of meat plus the head/antlers and hide. About 1.5 miles to camp. It was work! The reward? Fresh back straps and fried red potatoes for supper!

Taylor Pork Roll (from New Jersey) tastes similar but far superior to SPAM, but it is solid and densely packed in canvas. There's no gelatin. You slice it thin, fry it up, and it's heavenly. It's made from pork shoulder and bacon, fermented, and (like I said) compressed into a dense roll wrapped in canvas (covered by a plastic wrapper).
There is a variant called Taylor Ham, which is just the same thing with fewer flavorings added so it's for people who prefer something more bland. I prefer the original, real thing - Taylor Pork Roll. There are a few competitors in New Jersey, but Taylor is best.

Really? Alabama? As far as I know, it's strictly a New Jersey product, but they do import it in grocery stores in other states. I can get it in the deli sections at some (but not all) HEB grocery stores in Texas, but for some reason I could never get it anywhere in California, North Carolina, Missouri, or other places I've lived. You can order it online, but it's REALLY expensive to have it shipped, since they'll only ship it refrigerated and overnight as far as I know.
