The doctrine behind the preacher and Church to be sound - maybe even endorsed by God?

It would appear they are KJV only, traditional, free-grace (not Calvinist, or Reformed Theology), and probably preach and teach standards that don't have specific scripture and verse in the Bible (but based on good Biblical discernment).

From the Churches website: "We are an independent baptist church.  Our beliefs are strongly foundationed in the 1611 King James Bible.  For well over 50 years, we have guidelined our lives and our worship from the Word of God and through the blood Christ shed on the cross at Calvary."

It seems like God is moving and working. Seems hard to dispute that. Does this change the perspective anyone has for the independent baptist KJV only Church?

Sounds as if God can bless in any group.

It's His choosing, not the choice of their standards.

Well said.  History has shown this to be true.

God's doing a mighty work and you think this has something to do with the version of the Bible they use and their STANDARDS?

God is not on my level; He is far above me, and His thoughts and ways are not my ways.

I don't know why He chooses to bring revival to some regions of the country.

I'd be very skeptical about declaring that God is "endorsing" what we believe because of His blessings.

It merely confirms the fact that God can use people in spite of their KJV-Onlyism and man-made standards.

Honestly, the great majority of the folks who have made professions during this revival will and would never attend an IFB church.  The "tag 'em and bag 'em" soul winning techniques practiced by IFBs will not increase membership.  If that were the case, IFB churches would have millions of people packed into their pews every Sunday (at least according to their "soul winning" numbers).  Heck, FBCH should have an auditorium the size of three of four pro football stadiums to accommodate all the souls they claim to have saved.

Would God do a similar work with-in a Catholic Church or a Mormon Church? The way some people blast the IFB it would seem that they declare them as equal cults. Would God do this within a cult? Can a cult have the heart for God to invite and accept revival?

What I was trying to say within the opening thread was that this revival seems to validify that the IFB Churches are not the evil things so many seem eager to declare them to be.

Nope...I'm not going to put God in a box and I'm not going to call a well attended meeting a revival...time will tell.

Funny "Passion" draws 20K plus for  weekly meeting in several cities across the globe and IFBers call it a rock concert and the bands are the only reason that many college age kids attend.

In truth, does the Burlington Revival Confirm "revival" ?

I would love to see such attendance and outward expressions of Love of Jesus Christ at my local Church. The last time our sanctuary was packed was for a funeral. But - even if a meeting packed the place .... when would we call it revival.

Personally. When I noticed they already had a logo for the "revival" I wondered if things were going in the wrong direction. But. You can't knock the Lord working and 400+ getting saved. That for sure is a blessing.

Since IFB are I, any one could be a cult, or part of a cult, without the rest being involved.

For instance, Westboro.

No one lines up with them.

I've been in IFB churches that were a cult, and ones that were not Baptist at all.

Any assembly of believers that teaches the pure Gospel, is bound to grow , since people will be born again, however infrequently.

This post illustrates that no one is wrong ALL of the time.

Well said, but there are churches the size of stadiums packed full of unbelievers as well.

This is true; however, those churches are usually not ones that brag about their soul-winning prowess.
