"A major shortfall of the Church today is the fact that we don't weep for the lost as we ought."
You are right."A major shortfall of the Church today is the fact that we don't weep for the lost as we ought."
That pretty well covers it, so in my opinion, one word....You are right.
It's either we have simply a mental understanding of hell and not really a realistic, Scriptural understanding,
Or...We just don't care whether people go there, unless they are related to us,
Or, we have such a dim view of society that we think they ought to go there...serves them right.
There may be other reasons we don't weep for the lost, but probably the main one is that we just don't love the world like Jesus did.
I find myself guilty on all charges.
Simple curiosity.@abcaines, what about this quote interested you enough to post it here?
Ok, so what do you think about it?Simple curiosity.
Doesn't matter what I think... I'm curious about what others have to say.Ok, so what do you think about it?
I don’t see what there is to disagree on. Christians should be more burdened for the lost, definitely including myself in that statement."A major shortfall of the Church today is the fact that we don't weep for the lost as we ought."
this is true..... but even more important than shedding tears is getting out into the world like Jesus commanded us to do and sharing the gospel with the lost... ministering to them as needed.... and bringing them in whenever it is possible ....... ....tears without action do very little other than give the person crying a warm fuzzy feeling...... might as well hug a therapy dog and call it a day......"A major shortfall of the Church today is the fact that we don't weep for the lost as we ought."
The devil deals the cards....
I'll reveal my cards later in the hand.
