I love evangelists.  Most evangelists.  Well, "some" evangelists as I don't really know that many.

But I have a bone to pick with "some" evangelists.

Example:  Evangelist travels all over the country.  Posts his adventures on Facebook.  Posts about meetings.  Posts about results.  Posts about car breakdowns.

Yes, car breakdowns.

One time the evangelist posted his Suburban broke down and needed a tow.

I wrote and asked, "Didn't you call AAA?"

"I don't have AAA.  God will take care of it"

Example:  A young evangelist traveled to another country for a meeting.

He checked his guitar case at the gate.  He picked it up and the case was ruined.  Guitar ok.

Because of circumstances, I won't go in to, the airline says "Sorry".

I said he should fight it.

No need, "God will take care of it."

So here's the bone.  Both men say "God will take care of it" when what they really mean is "Other Christians will pay for it for me."

Now you'll say, "Brother, these men just want to bless others by letting them have a part in their ministry."  Well, AMEN!

I have no problem being a part of someone's ministry, but when they expect others to do for them what they could do for themselves, then I draw the line.

What say ye?  Just another example of me off my meds?

FB & Twi tter have become 24 hour a day movies of some lives.  TMI, pray then tell about it.

I was telling my wife about your post this morning on the way to church and she pulled her FB & to a recent similar post by an evangelist friend who's RV had broken down on the road. He had requested prayer situation & told where he was. People responded by letting him know that one of the one of the biggest RV dealers in the country was an hour away & that it might have the part that you needed. Someone else gave to meet the need ( but it wasn't asked for by the evangelist) and he was able to get back on the road that very same day. He then posted about his thankfulness to God for how the need was taken care of through his network of friends when in fact he had no idea that someone on his list would be that familiar with that part for the country to give him the advice that he needed at that time in that place.

Social media is a wonderful tool.  I have no idea of this man's intentions when he posted.  Personally, I think he believed he'd get a response that would help him out.

So are we saying that social media does the work of the Holy Spirit?  Well, it's a tool.

Now a real miracle would be that he told no one, prayed and let God take care of it.  Most would say that God did take care of it.

It's a matter of opinion.

George M?ller didn't have facebook or twitter he only had the LORD.

Bingo!

Glad you said it.  I thought it.

The most recent that comes to mind is Tom Williams story.  In hospital in Israel.  Wife sick.  Needs money.  Prays.  Phone rings.  Money on the way.

But now we have social media.  Tom didn't have it then.

Speaking of Tom Williams.

He felt God call him to evangelism.

He never told anyone except his wife.  He never asked for a meeting.

Things got tight.  He told his wife, "If God called me into this, He will send the meetings."

God did.

Why does God always seem to take care of the preachers with the most influence and social media followers?

The "who's who" sure seem to get a lot more donations than the "whose that."

Some of these folks need to change their church names to "GoFundMe Baptist Church"

BTW, George Muller needed money to feed orphans not buy expensive sound equipment or an inefficient RV.

And cute little orphans to drag from church to church while not asking for help.
