I really don't see what the big deal is. The climate is changing as it always has. The species that are able to adapt will survive just as they always have.

*this logic brought to you by modern science

95% of active climate researchers take the position that human beings are helping with global warming. I agree I don't care what celebrities say about it but I will take the scientists seriously. Like my car...if my mechanic is telling me there is a problem I listen.

I have a hard time putting a lot of stock into what scientist tell us.....but that's a topic for another thread  ;)

nope....not really....

well.....ill say that I just don't blindly go along with everything they say....

Climate Change "scientists"
Genuine political science!

Man made global warming, if it truly exists, may have saved the planet.

Climatologists in the late 60's and early 70's warned of a second ice age. Every science textbook covered the risk of an impending second ice age. They were filled with charts and graphs that showed how rapidly the earth was cooling.

Some believe the long term trend is still cooling not warming and extreme weather in Russia is one sign they are right.

I guess we dodged that bullet.

It really shouldn't matter what the cause of climate change is. The (alleged) fact that species come and go due to evolutionary forces at work responding to habitat change means some will survive and some won't. T-Rex didn't make the cut after the asteroids and some of the species alive now will perish but overall, life will go on.

BTW the idea that we can control nature at a global level is hubris of the first magnitude.

And it is this magnitude which politicians capitalize on in order to get a magnanimous amount of money. They are literally selling bottles of air!

I hadn't consider the fact the scientist study and research so that politicians can get more money ???

Then consider this your wake up call :)
When Al Gore leads the way, you can be guaranteed that politics is the underlying idea.

Lol... Chelsea Clinton just said that climate change is interconnected to child marriage!

The leader of CARE calls her an "activist, thought leader, and change agent.?

Bwahahaha!!!

It's all about the grant money.

EPA alone has a 1.1 billion dollar budget to fight climate change and improve air quality.
They give out over $100 million dollars each year for climate change research grants alone.

www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-02/documents/fy_2016_bib_combined_v5.pdf

in 2013 it was estimated there were over $359 billion in Climate Change Investment just in that year.

The tax side is what the pols like.
The grants help charlatans mask and modify the data

Maybe we will evolve into a species that bleeds money.  8)

And just maybe there is no such thing. Just maybe weather changes are cyclical.  For every scientist who claims "global warming" you can find one that disagrees.

Most climatologists believe the earth has experienced at least 5 ice ages in its history.
They also believe the hottest time period in our history was 950?1050 AD when the earth was significantly hotter than now. What was the source of carbon emission that caused that temperature spike?
Climate change is real and has been throughout world history, the question is do we have the power as humans to effect it. 2013 - 2016 were some of the coldest winters in recorded history. They also had some of the highest snowfalls.

There are scientists who believe that the changes are totally cyclical but there are the minority. You can not say for every scientist who states there believe modern human life has an impact on global warming there is one that does not agree.

The argument that it is done just for the money is bogus. There is just as much money or more on the right as there is on the left to influence. To imply that most scientist are motivated only by the money is just as wrong as saying all preachers are motivated only by the money.
