One of the odder rules at HAC was one that prohibited dormitory females from doing the laundry of dormitory males. Why? As a lot these rules who knows?

Ummmmm....this is not an 'odd' rule at all, in my opinion.

There is no way I would have wanted to do Raider's laundry when we dated.

I remember the championship intramural basketball game in '84.  As I left the court you yelled at me and I took off one of my socks and threw it to you in the stands.  I can still see you rubbing it all over your face.  Good times!

So......RAIDER, you dated Teri?  What was her shortcomings that made you drop her?  Snicker addiction?  What?  Can we start a thread on that subject?

It was the longest year of my life.  I was working a full time job to pay my school bill.  That leaves little money for King Size Snicker Bars.  When you are buying 2 - 3 of these each day to support a gal's habit, it can take quite a hit on the old billfold.

Now we know the reason for her Q size pantyhose.

Both Christian colleges I attended, the stupidest rule for males were you had to wear a tie when attending classes. Second stupidest rule at BJU was you could have a football on campus. They did not want us to break a leg but yet we could play soccer. Go figure.

You could, or could not, have a football on campus?

Only if you claimed it as being chartreuse in color.

In the 1980s and prior, you needed the President of Maranatha's approval to get engaged.

Well, that's one rule I broke.  I never even heard of Maranatha when I got engaged.

This thread made me laugh out loud....I do remember having to get permission to get married. I've only been married Holy Cow 38 years!! Bro Hyles told us to wait but the ceremony was set in place I wasn't going to cancel it for anyone......no regrets !!

How can band aids not have been mentioned already?

It wasn'the really a rule, but rather a  suggestion given during ladies' split chapel, dorm devotions,  or during other times the assistant DofW  thought it prudent to humiliate a young female student.

How about the restrictions of who could ride in your car. These applied even if your mom or dad were driving.

Always
'suggested' by the assistant DofW.  Never Mrs. Evans.  Just Raider's woman.

1. male students had to keep suit jackets on for evening service at all times. (while 3rd string maintenance staff checked during opening prayer).
2. male students had to wear a belt at all times. I was asked once by the 30ish single maintenance supervisor with a bad combover (I forget his name) if I had a belt on under my sweater. really awkward :D.
3. male students had to be in shirt and tie at all times at dormitories, even if just getting home from work, had to run to change to spend 15 minutes with the love of my life.

Just to name a few
