did anyone grow up in FBC Hammond in the early 70's? If so, do you remember a man named Bob Olson? He was the custodian of the church.

Yes.  His story has already been told here.  Do a search and find it in other threads.

Denver, I am sorry to hear you were hurt, and that your abuser was not stopped. I hope you have experienced healing and found a healthier church environment.

i am an agnostic and long thru with organized religion but thank you for your kind words.

I knew something was up, as I observed him, in the 80's.
I got way too inside, on the story of the "girlfriend" he "dated" as a cover.
Found out she was a lesbo, along with 10 or so of the HB teachers over the years.
She, as far as I know (as of last year) lives with the lesbo  ex-wife of a former staffer.
Of course, they were both Christian school teachers at a large IFB church still, as well.

All that to say, I went through a similiar situation.
I fought everyone and everything.
The Church took a dung dump on me.
My Mom left, cuz my Dad who was a Deacon, didn't have the backbone to stand and fight.

Three of my siblings claim agnosticism or atheism.

I have spent years finding out, and speaking out, abouthow organized religion has turned away from God.

I am happy alone, with the Scriptures.  I need no earthly confirmation, though there are many fellow-travellers.

I am sorry that you gave up on faith, but I understand the process that took you there.

I don't despise you, rather, I see you as a brother in the struggle against Christian Perverts.

I will hope for you, so that you will no that there will always be 1 who is in your corner.

Feel free to contact me, if you ever want to.

Agnosticism is rational, at least.  Atheism (and I say this as a former atheist) is the most ignorant position imaginable.  It's stupidity caused by spiritual blindness.  We're not even sure how many planets there are in our own solar system, yet someone can claim to KNOW that there is no God?

Right. I tell my brother "just dont stop searching".
My other brother has an axe to grind against someone he claims isn't there.  Miserable doesn't begin to describe him.
