Ferguson: Nothing says 'I care' like looting and burning local businesses.

Unless you happened to sell tea in the 1770s...

You're joking, right?  The tea party was a rebellion against the unjust taxes on the tea.  There is a direct connection.

I'm pretty sure the liquor stores, convenience stores, fast food restaurants and beauty salons didn't have anything to do with Mike Brown's death.  This was rampant destruction for destruction's sake, and looting from innocent businesses to get free stuff.

Even though he is doing it as a publicity stunt, I'm glad he is doing it. :)

(FYI, I wouldn't consider it such if he raised such funds under the radar. Yeah, I realize he is using his celebrity status to help but Jesus said something about doing such deeds in a high profile manner. Not that I would think Rush would stand for Christian values anyway. :) )

Impartial.look? Hardee har har!!

Well then.... there we are!

If people are able to equivocate on justice by making the patriots out to be racist rioters who sought vengeance against the white man's system... then they...

1) have a fundamental revisionist history of the Revolution

2) ignore the fact that self defense is a fundamental right

3) are woefully incapablenof arguing against the facts of Ferguson and prefer to paste a false comparison on the event. I don't even see the Al Sharptons of this world making the same comparison.

If you don't understand history... there is a very easy way for you to understand Ferguson.

When Al Sharpton gets invited to the party, you can be 100% sure it is not a good cause.

I get it now.

Michael Brown was responsible for the death of Michael Brown.  And since Michael Brown was a minority in a black community, the people destroyed minority-owned businesses in the black community as an act of protest against Michael Brown.

Yep! "Burn this s$@!# down!" ... and take the church with it! ( ... so they did)

Nothing says "head in the racist sand" like watching racists do what they promised before they had the facts and carry through even when they got the "facts" wrong. Once the narrative has been established... the mob cannot see facts.

How do you raise money from the public and remain under the radar?

Again, the evidence seems to me, and those serving on the grand jury, to be overwhelming and they didn't issue an indictment. Our judicial system is based on the law, and facts.

I guess we'll just agree that we disagree....but the outcome is what it is....

that is fine with me .... as long as we can disagree without slinging personal insults... condescending put downs... or calling that those who disagree  "willfully blind".... in the past year we have been on the same side of things much more often than we have disagreed....... i look forward to when we can be again.......

Reading thru the thread, I couldn't find any personal insult I directed at you...the willfully blind comment was not in response to you, personally. The context of that was a reference to all of the testimony and evidence being made public. After seeing that, the decision not to indict is obviously the correct one, to me and most other people, at least.

legal experts reviewing the grand jury documents have identified a number of glaring holes in the initial investigation......... so while none of this will cause any new investigation or subject wilson to a criminal grand jury again..... it does nonetheless leave the city of ferguson police department and the prosecutors office open to lawsuits........ and it may also weigh heavy in a civil trial should the federal government decide to charge wilson with violating mike browns civil rights...........

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/25/ferguson-grand-jury-evidence-mistakes_n_6220814.html

and just out of curiosity..... what will your position be if the federal government does charge wilson with a civil rights violation and a jury upholds it?......... will you be in full support of that jurys decision like you support the grand jury of ferguson?......

If the Obama/Holder regime bring some charge against officer Wilson I'd have to know what the charges were and again what the factual evidence was trying to prove the charges.

I'm sure Obama/Holder would be honest and above board in their 'if like your doctor you can keep your doctor. If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance' kind of way.

They might also get someone to follow Wilson around hoping to charge him with litering, loitering or singing off key. But he has been proven innocent as to charges of murder/manslaughter...and that can never be changed.

First and foremost, Scalia had NOTHING to say about Ferguson despite blatantly false headlines to the contrary that appear on the Huffington Post which is a two sentence blurb then has to link to ThinkProgress.org for the “full story”.

Second, everyone likes to quote this when they do not get their way on a grand jury.  The fact is that United States v. Williams was a Federal Case, in Federal Courts, and all supporting cases referenced were Federal Decisions.  US v Williams came to be “because the Government had failed to fulfill its obligation under Circuit precedent to present "substantial exculpatory evidence" to the grand jury”.  The prosecutor withheld evidence from the Grand Jury that led to them move forward with charges against Williams.  Thus, “the procedure exercised by the ferguson grand jury.. as directed by the prosector(sp)... was contrary to this principle outlined by scalia in almost every way” is trying to take a square peg into a round hole.

Apparently Huffington Post is our go-to for legal resources now, so in this article says  that the Prosecutor gave all the evidence.  So which  one is it, that they withheld exculpatory evidence as in US v Williams, or they gave all the evidence?

This 1992 article sums up the Federal decision nicely: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1992-05-05/news/9202090822_1_grand-juries-federal-courts-prosecutors-present-evidence  and another; http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1992-05-05/news/1992126029_1_grand-jury-grand-jurors-jury-indictment, again, this case is about withholding facts from a Grand Jury that may lead to a “no bill verdict”.

You can read Scalia’s full opinion here: http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/90-1972.ZO.html
The Syllabus is available here:  http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/90-1972.ZS.html

It has NOTHING to do with the responsibility of a Grand Jury except to those who wish to do what the IFB are regularly and rightfully criticized for…taking a statement and manipulating to fit their own agenda.

Breaking: Liberal grand jury returns first degree murder charges against officer Wilson's gun.  Second amendment supporters riot; burn charcoal and flip over hamburgers.

By raising funds through the name of another or an organization. I'm not at all complaining about him doing it but after years of listening to Rush, I get the impression that he is doing it as a publicity stunt. If only he cared about any one of his multiple ex-wives like that...

I think it is hilariously pathetic that the mantra being used to spearhead this effort is still "hands up, don't shoot" when it has been established that that motif was not anything close to what occurred.  But who cares about facts when you've got a cause to misrepresent, and businesses to burn and loot.

Facts don't matter.

Perception over reality.

I guess your years in Hammond gave you the gift of judgment.
Amen and amen!

I saw on FB that Obama plans to issue an executive order changing looting to undocumented shopping.  :)

destroying the private property of innocent businessmen over what you see as unjust taxation on tea without representation in parliament?.... ..- versus destroying the private property of innocent businessmen over what you see as unjust execution on the street without representation by the legal system.......

If you want to take an "impartial look," you need to make sure you get your history right and don't spin it to your advantage.

The tea that was destroyed in the Boston Tea Party belonged to the East India Company., who were exempt from the import duty of the Tea Act - which exemption the Company itself lobbied for in order to undercut competition from other tea merchants. The Company was not innocent; it was complicit in the tea tax.

The situation in Boston in 1773 was nowhere near close to the situation in Ferguson in 2014. Anarchic rioters were not using a grievance as an excuse to run rampant, damaging the property of innocent persons. The Boston Tea Party targeted the very source of the grievance: the corporation that benefited unjustly from the Tea Act, and by extension the British government that passed it under the Company's influence.

kinda like the ferguson police department and prosecutors office has taken action to make it;s officers exempt from prosecution under the law for wrong doing?

Yes. commpletely exempt. That's the purpose of putting the case before a grand jury, right? [rolls eyes]

no kidding they are nowhere close to being the same....... the rioters in ferguson are protesting the wrongful death of a young man they believe was summarily executed in the street by a police officer who handled an already bad situation in an unprofessional manner then lied about it........

Well, if the situations are similar, I have to assume that Walgreen's and Natalie's Cakes and More were complicit in the murder, right?

[rolls eyes]

After posting this observation I googled some stories about the fact that the false narrative (LIE!) of "hands up, don't shoot" was still being used to further this movement, and to my surprise there were a great number of people who also were perplexed how that chant is still being used to further a cause that never happened in the Ferguson case.  However, despite widespread acknowledgement that the facts in evidence don't support the "hands up" lie there are numerous race-baiters that admit they don't care that the original claims weren't true, and they're gonna use (EXPLOIT!) Brown's death for their largely bogus cause.  The St Louis Rams, amongst others, said as much.  Sad, sad, sad that our country is being torn up by people who merchandise lies.
