Then we have no basis to continue the discussion. :(

Hard to believe that a person that claims to be born again believes like Smell in Coffee.

Jesus saves us, not our acceptance of Paul's authority. Not even our knowledge of Jesus. Simply Jesus.

Exactly. :)

"I don't believe he ever did [write under inspiration]."

^^This is what I was referring to.....if a person doesn't believe Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, then yes, it would be Paul's authority. I believe Scripture was given by Inspiration therefore all scripture is authoritative.

And yes, Jesus saves, none other...............DUH!!! ::)

Ultimately, its God's choice to do as He pleases. However, there is nothing in the Scriptures to make me believe that God will save someone that hasn't called upon Him.

God will do as He pleases. He chose to give all judgement to the Son. I presented Scriptures that make me believe that God will save someone who hasn't called upon Him. We obviously disagree which is fine.

Just who do you believe has heard? Are you saying that the message hasn't existed throughout the ages?

Psa 19:2  Day to day utters speech, and night to night proclaims knowledge.
Psa 19:3  There are no speeches or words, in which their voices are not heard.
Psa 19:4  Their voice is gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

Context has to be really stretched to think the Psalmist was talking about Jesus. ;)

Then what defines "Scripture"? A 66-book canon? A 75-book canon? Could it be that Paul was talking about inspiration of the canon which he had which did not include his writings at the time? Could it be that Paul actually taught that not all Scripture was inspired of God (look at the verse in the KJV and see what the translators put into the verse to spin it)?

Here is something for your education, if you choose to read it:

I didn't include verse one. I should have.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims the work of his hands.

Of course, David wrote Psalm 19 and Jesus is the Son of David. I think David said a few things about that as well. ;)

I don't think I have post all of them. I think you get my "drift". :)

So a chapter about the display about God's creative hand is actually a literal gospel presentation that Jesus would die for the sins of the world? Again, a stretch.

Seems the salvific message in the chapter is at the end, not the beginning.

Declare me innocent from hidden faults. Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.

Repentance apart from the person of Jesus is what I see in the context.

No. I didn't say that at all.

Psalm 19 is true. Its not alone. There are other collected works that agree with Psalm 19. However, Psalm 19 does clearly state that....

day in... .day out.... the heavens declare that this life more than the sum of its parts. That this life declares a Creator. If you recognize this fact. This Truth. Then, you would look for more truth.

Wouldn't you even look to something that might just be saying the same things? In other words, wouldn't Psalm 19 catch the eye of someone who's seeking to know more about a Creator that he recognizes exists from "natural things"? You're looking at this entirely too narrowly.
Repentance apart from the person of Jesus is what I see in the context.

David didn't just wrote Psalm 19.

When you read something from an author you like.... Don't you want to know what else they had to say about things? I do......

Maybe I am not understanding you here but are you saying that our salvation is still "up in the air"? That we will have to wait and see what Jesus decides down the road? And His decision will be based upon how well we did in obeying His teachings?

Maybe I am not understanding you here but are you saying that our salvation is still "up in the air"? That we will have to wait and see what Jesus decides down the road? And His decision will be based upon how well we did in obeying His teachings?

Jesus illustrates:

“Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made.  So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’ So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

John says:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Verbs are current action. As we walk in the light, we are cleansed. As we repent, we are cleansed. Should we cease, the cleansing abates.

John later clarifies assurance:

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

I don't believe it is based on "how we did" (ex. thief on the cross) but it seems as to where our heart is when we die. Not claiming we need to be "perfect" at the time of death as none of us can be. Hence, obey Christ, rely on the grace of God and let Jesus make final determination. No need to fear if we choose to follow Him. :)

You refer to cliches such as Hail Marys, dodge and deflection and Stevie Wonder can see along with your willful disregard for the plain meaning of scripture is so laughable.  It would appear you do this because you can't make a real argument for your position. When someone disagrees with you...you call names and make fun in lieu of real substance. You don't have to agree with me but name calling adds nothing to your argument.  Also continuing to try to compare homosexuality to pedophilia continues to demonstrate your gay bashing love that you started over on the HAC thread. Stay with your cliches and gay bashing...it is much easier than actually studying scripture to see what it actually teaches.

When the plain sense of scripture makes sense, seek no other sense.
Your position requires you to explain why scripture didn't really say what it says.

Once again you start with a nice little cliche that has no meaning. Any false doctrine can be made from taking a verse or verses and say this is the plain sense of scripture. I could find verses that would appear to teach baptismal regeneration, no eternal security or that the church was built on Peter. One studies so that they can take all that is taught on a subject and come to a rational conclusion. That is a far cry from throwing out a cliche.[/b]

IF saying that Sodomy is sin is gay bashing, then I'm a gay basher.
You miss the point about pedophilelia.
If homosexuality can be said to be genetic in nature...the same arguments can be made to say pedophila is genetic in nature.

Why chose pedophilia to make your comparison? People are born with the tendency towards a bad temper. That can result in sin. You chose pedophilia because you know that no right minded person accepts the acts of a pedophilia and it changes the tone of the conversation on homosexuality. You use it because you know that pedophilia disgusts any decent person.

Your gay bashing accusations are, IMO the equivalent to a Hail Mary pass.....it dodges the issue.

I have already posted your gay bashing comments from the HAC thread to this thread. You have already demonstrated yourself to be a gay basher. Your own words condemn you including "What a pedophilia is new Homosexuality once was...in every respect".  That is a gay bashing comment.

Reasonable people can disagree on this subject. Decent people should not accept the cruel and mean things that you have written.

Whether you realize this or not.... There are some that combine the practice of homosexuality and pedophilia. Ever heard of NAMBLA? In fact, David Thorstad is the founder of NAMBLA and was the former president of "New York’s Gay Activists Alliance".

Do you know of any Catholics priests that might have a problem with this?

No. I attend a typical evangelical church, probably much like yours.

FWIW, my wife and kids don't hold to my belief system and I don't push mine on them. I simply encourage them to follow Jesus by doing justly, loving mercy and walk humbly with God. :)

Oh, and yes the pastor knows where I stand as we have discussed it a few times. I attend but am not allowed to be involved in ministering with the church which is fine by me because I have many other avenues in which to serve.

Here is something for your education, if you choose to read it:

Nope not gonna read it.

I choose to have my head in the sand and believe all 66 books is all God intended for us to have as far as scripture goes. And I also believe all scripture is authoritative.

You don't which boggles my mind.
