The first Lutheran church in Madagascar (formerly ?The Malagasy Republic?) was established by the Norwegian Mission Society in 1867. This church body now consists of 22 regional synods, several seminaries and more than 3 million members in Malagasy (out of a population of 18 million). They have almost 1 million members in other nations. The Madagascar Lutheran Church (MLC) is experiencing much growth through outreach by volunteer lay members called Mpiandry, or shepherds, who pray for and counsel the sick through around-the-clock ministry on church grounds.
At its founding in 1950, the Malagasy Lutheran Church had around 18,000 members, gained by merging various Norwegian and American Lutheran groups; today it has approximately 3 million and is the 9th largest church in the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). It was the first former "mission field" church to be accepted into the LWF.

In 65 years, the Madagascar Lutheran Church has grown from 18,000 to 3 million members! Lutherans!

Has God no respect for US?!? (I'll bet they're not even using the King James Version).

Vince, I bet you didn't know this. But, I am sure your extensive research would have probably uncovered it. In 1545 Martin Luther had a bowel movement!
