Just remember: if that fairy, King James, hadn't hated Bible-believing Christians and effectively thrown all the Calvinists out, you wouldn't have a country today!

Nice twist of historical conjecture. Here, let me try:

Happy Independence Day everyone! Just remember, if our founding fathers had been a bunch of tyranny loving fairies like the Canadians, we wouldn't have the best nation in the history of the earth!

*liberal, low-life, socialist pukes' heads explode all over the planet*

What Peggy Noonan has to say about Obama:

He (Obama) thinks he’s done his work, set America on a leftward course, and though his poll numbers are down now, history will look back on him and see him as heroic, realistic, using his phone and pen each day in spite of unprecedented resistance. He is Lincoln, scorned in his time but loved by history.

He thinks he is in line with the arc of history, that America, for all its stops and starts, for all the recent Supreme Court rulings, has embarked in the long term on governmental and cultural progressivism. Thus in time history will have the wisdom to look back and see him for what he really was: the great one who took every sling and arrow, who endured rising unpopularity, the first black president and the only one made to suffer like this.

That’s what he’s doing by running out the clock: He’s waiting for history to get its act together and see his true size.

Relevant comment on Hot Air:

Here’s the bitter truth folks, if we don’t get control of the press and education, she’s exactly right. He’s going to be written as the victor as the country gets forced inexorably leftward. All one has to do it look up north and see how venerated Trudeau is now as a former prime minster. He was basically Canada’s Obama … he broke any rugged individualism Canada had and turned them into the “we love our socialized health care – it’s our national identity!” folks they are now.

The victor writes the history books…and right now we ain’t winning.

Separatists, He bragged about driving them out.

Then they, from exile mind you,  were granted ,by Plymouthe Co., the fulfillment of the Charter that the self-same King granted to them.

Technically, the number "4" does appear on Canadian calendars in the month of July. :)

My wife grew up in Canada and tells me that their big holiday in July comes three days before ours. It was called Dominion Day when she was there but it is now called Canada Day since the whole "we're co-dependent and can't stand on our own as a nation that can defend itself much less speak the same language or have a national identity" thing wasn't working for them.

Canada used to have "Socialized Health Care Day".  They celebrated it by coming to the USA to get the kind of health care they couldn't get in Canada.

"Socialized Health Care Day" has been canceled, though, due to the fact that Obamacare is crap and there's no longer any reason to come to the USA for anything.

Right in between July 3 and July 5, and nestled neatly into the shadow of July 1. ;)

And what shadow would that be? It must be the shadow of doubt since the it has been renamed and even debated as to its meaning. It is such a puny shadow and is dispelled by the light of Liberty that shines from the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Happy belated "Dominion/Canada Day" everyone.  ;D

Being one of the Canadian minority on the FFF, of course I'm happy to take a ribbing every now and then. But in all seriousness: What in the name of Jack Hyles' right butt-cheek are you gibbering about?

It has something to do with Jack Hyles' LEFT butt-cheek since we're talking about Canada here.

I am just ribbing you Scott but I was referring to the fact that Dominion Day was renamed to Canada Day which I'm sure you know. The "debate" comment comes from my first hand experience. When I visit my wife's relatives in Canada (or for that matter when they come down here), I'm inevitably subjected to the the "discussion" about who are real Canadians as opposed to those who want to destroy Canada with their multiculturalism and segregation of immigrants in the Toronto area. And don't even start to mention Quebec's lack of ratifying the "constitution act" and the succession movement. It gets heated at times.

Most of the Canadians I know are older English/Scottish/Cayman types. Listening to their children and grand children is a lesson in the effects of socialistic humanism.
