It's with pure sadness I admit, by attending WHBC for so long there was a lot of enjoyment that our fellow members were missing out on. Since leaving, I have run across a large number of former members that left at around the same time frame. The one thing in common with each one of them is that they are enjoying a great deal of fellowship, good christian fellowship. Their going to fun and exciting church functions, meeting fellow christians at eating places or just getting together for a goodtime whether they are attending the same church or not. I've heard it time and time again. The GREATEST thing in common with former WHBC members is that they are ALL excited about going to church again just to hear some good preaching, actually learning from Gods word. That in itself is a blessing to hear.
Quite a few have commented about the music ministry and how it's nice to see people excited about singing specials and smiles on the faces of those that are singing. That was humorous.
By the way current WHBCers, These former members that I'm mentioning are all going to KJV bible preaching, Christ centered, Soul winning baptist churches.

What, Cicero?  They are happy in Jesus...and they left WHBC?  I was taught for the entire time I was at WHBC, that ain't possible!!  To leave WHBC is to turn your back on Christ himself. To leave WHBC is to be so backslidden you have no happiness in your life.  To leave WHBC means you've headed for destruction from the hand of God himself!!

I heard that everyone who left WHBC was either not in church at all or they all attend liberal, compromising, CCM singing, charasmatic churches where they get their ears tickled at every service.

Wow!!  I gues you are saying that all those things I heard over the years from the leadership at WHBC is a bucnh of bologna!  And I agree.

One of the first things we saw after leaving WHBC and going to the first service at another IFB shurch in Okc was happines, joy and a true look of excitement on the faces of those in attendance.  The music had joy and heart in it. The preaching was powerfull and applicable to life as a Christian. The people were so friendly and the fellowship was awesome.

At WHBC those things were not so.  Not because of the people but because of the oppressive always having to be in control of every aspect of your lives type leadership at WHBC.  The control freaks keep the people in a false state of thiniking they were happy and that anywhere else was miserable.  What a joke it was!!

Well said Just Me, I couldn't have responded any better. Oppression describes WHBC very well.

That is one thing I noticed when visiting other churches after leaving WHBC. The people were happy and glad to be in church, they were not there out of duty, fear of condemnation or being judged for not being faithful.

They were there because they wanted to serve God with like believers without all the nonsense.

I was amazed at how refreshing it can be to go to church. Where you don't dread walking in the door and it just sucks the life out of you.  Church became such a chore.    When we left that church we were spiritually exhausted.  We might be the evil people left the church, but we have never had a closer relationship with God and our family has never been happier. We have been trashed from the pulpit and the members have been told not to associate with former members.  but that's ok they were phony relationships to begin with, united behind a managod.

That is one thing I told my wife when we left. "We won't lose any friends".

Yes, when we left our church that had become pretty much a MOG-worshipping church instead of a Christ-worshipping church, it was quite different and wonderful to see the change.
