Are they fine with raising the draft and minimum enlistment age as well?

I remember getting home, to Indiana.
I was 19, and enlisted at 17.
They had raised the smoking age to 18, and required an I.D.
I had no I.D. with my age on it.
I remember telling the gas station clerk..."I'm old enough to take a bullet for the country, but not to smoke?"

Crazy!

Earnestly Contend

It's that age in California as well. I don't see how that's going to stop any one from smoking. People generally start smoking well before 21.  All it does is make it illegal to sell to anyone under 21. We've had a similar law in Canada for years and all a kid has to do is get an adult (over 18 or 19 depending on province/territory) to buy smokes for them.
